Un17 girls in china for pre worlds tour

From nets outs reports girls are doing ok, though looks like some early injuries. What the thoughts on sending teams to china where as in this case these young 15 and 15 yr olds are up against much bigger bodied players where injury is more likely , is it wise when worlds are so close.do they really need to do such a tour

I think that it's a valuable learning experience for the girls. They'd only played three international games prior to China (against NZ). The girls had a win last night against the Chinese team that had beaten them convincingly just days before. Seems like they are getting into the swing of playing at that level and although injury and illness are always risk factors, it's so important to gain experience.

Great move to send them over to play and gain experience, and there is always going to be a risk of injury no matter how you prepare for the worlds.

Got spanked last night by USA by 40, only managed 8 pts in the first half. All good practice I guess.

The US team is all college players, so quite a difference compared to our under 17s.

also AUS team has injuries, this is about playing a lot of game in quick succession against possibly better opposition than at WC's

I read the score vs USA 60 to 38 this is not 40 points

They did ok, and injuries should not make that much difference in a national side, there should be enough quality players to cover a couple who were out. Obviously need better ball handling skills as USA kept stripping it, but they will improve, they are 16 and 17 yr olds playing against girls 2 and 3 yrs older
