Blazers vs Rockets, Game 6

Lillard with the incredible buzzer-beater:

And remarkably, here's a Brandon Roy three in the past against the same opponent with a similar scoreline!

Lillard has been awesome this first round. Better than harden!

Good to see Howard's move from the lakers achieved a first round exit!

Also harden showed in this series that he's not as great as he's made out to be. His defence was woeful again today. Allowing players to just dribble past then reach from behind. If he didn't get to the line from the rubbish fouls he gets called his stats would look ordinary. I've never seen so many fouls called for a player that initiates the contact.

On nba.com's plays of the day they say "Lillard's as cold blooded than a frozen snake".

Pretty much sums it up.

Funny how things work out... if they pick Durant over Oden, they wouldn't have gotten Lillard down the track.

It was so amazing to see live, I just loved that result and how it happened, NBA is where amazing happens and they just keep proving it!

I reckon he had a split second more time than Patty Mills in the Spurs Game v Mavericks, similar circumstances but a much maligned result as Patty didn't quite get the length on his shot.

Great to see a team like the Blazers get on a bit of a roll as they have developed their team and deserve some success.

If I started talking in here about socialist politics in Czechoslovakia in the early 1930's, how long do you think it would take before the conversation would drift to Patty Mills?

Gordan, depends. Would your discussion cover the short-lived and little-known Nymburk bakers uprising in the Pátek mills?

The West is just unbelievable. Teams like OKC, SA, Houston, Clippers all get so much attention.

But I don't think people realise just how good both Lillard and the Trailblazers are.

I mean Lillard just put up in that series the same numbers that D-Rose put up when he won the MVP. Lillard went for something like 26, 7 and 7!! Then LMA averaged 29.8 and 12 rebounds in the series. Those are just freakish numbers. Add in Batum, Wes Matthews, Lopez (a great defensive player) , a shooter/floor-spacer like Mo Williams, another lights out shooter like Wright (hasn’t found the range thus far though) and that is one damn scary team.

All the advanced stats suggest clearly that Portland is the most potent offensive team.

Plus, consider just how hard it is to win at Portland (one of the toughest, if not the toughest).

They are not a team I would like to be playing at all. Coach Pop said that - which is rare as he doesn’t seem to get too fazed by other teams.

They are a legitimate shot at not just the WCF, but also the championship. Say they did come up against the Heat. I don’t know if the Heat would be able to handle that type of potent offense, especially coming from the East and facing slower, more defensive minded teams (BKN, Charlotte, Pacers)

There's no doubt that Patty got them back into that game in game 6. Bad luck to the Mavs overall was a great round. Good to see the blazers get through too.

Harden has been exposed every playoffs. Even look back to his OKC days. You can't play one man offence in playoffs and defence wins championships.

That's the Cheese.

Any reference to P.Mills from now on must include the phrase 'Beast Mode', just to make Gordon Liddy squirm.

Spurs still in there, so maybe we can even mention Baynes when he gets a minute off the bench?

Well, at least there is some relevance to basketball, I won't apologise for making mention of Patty's shot on the buzzer, if it wasn't him I still would have mentioned it because what Lillard did was just unbelievable...

I truly hope the second round lives up to the first, bring on game 7, I say!!

The Cheese,

Howard as well.

Obviously, he is a good defender.

But he just doesn't strike me as someone who is going to win a championship
