Montreal 39, Creek 20 in respective SEABL finals

Few more SEABL finals tonight.

Incoming 36ers import Daequon Montreal had 39 points (14/19 FG, 3/6 3P, 8/11 FT) and nine rebounds in a critical win over Ballarat. Result was 92-85.

Mitch Creek meanwhile had 20 points and 12 rebounds for the Spectres, beating the Supercats 87-86. Creek went 8/19 FG, 1/5 3P and 3/6 FT.

DQ looks capable of lighting up all over the court.

Should translate well into NBL level at least at a mid level import.

I have coached against DQ for 3 seasons. He is quality on and off the court. 36ers fans will love him.

Anstey on Creek's game:

Enjoyed two SEABL finals tonight. Mitch Creek had the best individual quarter of basketball at both ends I've seen in SEABL for a long time.

How do you pronounce his name (apologies ,never heard it )?

It's a shame that Anstey doesn't know a thing about coaching. Even bringing in Frank Are go to help out and also getting rid of long time veteran ream manager Ian Jones.
Sad days indeed.

Does anyone know how the Sixers v Woodville practice match went and who played for the Sixers?

Anstey Should have been at the Rangers and watched DQ drop 18pts in the first QTR.
Obviously hasn't watched to many SEABL games in his life.

What if

What if more people focused on the positive on this site and less on being negative ?

Isaac started this thread to share the fact that two of the 36ers playing in Seabl are doing very well. Why not get behind that instead of continuously looking for negatives ?

Most likely Anstey did go and watch the Dandenong - Ballarat game as he turned up late in the Nunawading - Geelong game .

The good news is that Anstey is going out to watch more games. Certainly D-Mac has been to many games already this season . Even Andrew Gaze was out watching together with a lot of other people and enjoying a great night of basketball .

If Dandenong beats Geelong next week-end then everyone can look forward to a feast of basketball on September 6 at Nunawading stadium.

Isaac - everything points to DQ being the "incoming 36ers import" but we haven't seen anything official yet have we?

I suspect it hasn't been announced because you can't have overlapping contracts.

Once his obligations are completed with Dandenong I think you'll see a media release.

He will need a clearance from Dandenong too.

If that were true then why have the Kings announced the signing of Daniel Joyce a SEABL player.

Completely different situations.

An International Restricted Player on big contract V local unrestricted player possibly on no contract...

One is still playing finals, the other finished.

IF Montreal gets injured who covers his contract??

36ers wouldn't inact his playing contract till he's cleared from Dandenong and free of obligations of his Dandenong contract.

This problem crops up a lot when SEABL teams sign local players that have multi year deals at NBL clubs, the NBL clubs normally insist on the SEABL teams insuring the player and making game payments in place of a full playing contract.

FYI

All players have to present day 1 of NBL training injury free or risk voiding their contract.

Anon #579 that probably make sense, although I'm pretty sure Wilson who is signed is currently playing in Finland.
