I know,
Sturt employed the refs and organised the whole thing.
It;s disgraceful that they are allowed to get away with it.
Sturt always cheat and it has nothing to do with how hard the players work.

I am a parent and I have every right to complain that my child should have to work as hard as some kids from another club.
My kids should automatically be given the premiership!!

On another note congrats to ALL of the kids that competed and the parents for supporting.

Home final ???? Talk to BSA who do the scheduling. If it wasn't for the show then it would have been at Wayville. Get off Sturts back.. it is not their issue...

Why don't they schedule them at Mars. They never make finals so no issue with home court advantage

Wasn't it 5 fouls to 1 in the last quarter in the Sturt centrals 16 game? Scores were tied before that. Close game too but that doesn't make a difference.

Saw one centrals player pull up for a jump shot and get his legs taken out and knocked to the ground. Unsportsmanlike foul? No. Regular foul? No.

Ball clearly goes out off Sturt and they get it back.

Tech foul given to centrals player cause he didn't hear the whistle and kept playing.

All rubbish calls that happened during the night and you don't think that makes a difference in a 5 point game????

suck it up centrals parent, the better team won on the night. take your angst with the refs up with BSA. just for the record it's not how you win but how you act in defeat that defines the depth of your personality. keep teaching your kids that it's ok to be a sook.

Sounds like the finals should have been scheduled at Bonython park while the circus was in town!
Clowns for refs and lion tamers to control the parents

Still laughing likes to use the word sook a lot. Do you realise in psychology, we see in others what we see in ourselves?

Calling "still laughing" are you there? or are you having a sook with your Sturt mates?

Embarrassed Centrals parent.... sturt won. Who cares. Good on them. They didn't get it easy and our boys played average. I bet the kids aren't even thinking too hard about like their olds are. Parents ruin kids sport. Sit back. Watch have a whinge during the game. Deal with the outcome like your kid has to. Well done bothe teams for an always entertaining and quality game of ball

What about today's finals. Saw North won all three U10 GF's. What's the go with having two green shirts reffing together in a GF. Don't we have any refs at Pasadena

^They had refs from all over at Pasadena this morning. Saw refs from Port Adelaide, Wavyille, Marion and local. Good to see BSA sharing the load around on finals rather than seeing the same biased referees week-in week-out. Who cares if they are green shirts, some of them are better than the grey ones we see on Friday nights.

Sturt were able to win 16 boys after handicapping themselves by having 2 players sit out the game. Woukdnt have been close if they all played.

Well done to both Centrals and Sturt, the two best teams all year in this grade.

Both teams have had a fantastic year. Centrals were too good in summer, State Champs and Classics, but Sturt got it done on the last day of the season.

I'm sure there will be more epic battles between these two teams in the future.

"Handicapping themselves" LOL I love how these Sturt coaches get on here all high and mighty.

I had better not say too much, I think one might help out as a moderator. I had a call from one once! How would he know my IP number and then get my phone number only to call me?

You do know you can't actually tell where an IP comes from, nor determine a phone number from and IP address mate???

But nice try in an effort to deflect.

Yeah def great rivalry between the two teams.
Great battles all year round and it was only a matter of time that Sturt were able to get one back (in a big game).

Centrals didn't execute that well and Sturt shot the three ball well. That's seemed to be the difference in the two teAmS. Both teams had a crack and it was a great game.

And yes I am a lion but not a parent, player or coaching staff involved in the game. Def the best game of the night. Well done to both groups.

No, it happened to myself and another person I know. This guy in question probably found out the IP, and there is a website you can type in the IP address and get the details. I know it's also possible for moderators to tell if the post came from a computer, mobile or tablet.

Thanks for that summary. I would be interested to see those results against number of teams per club. Souths got to be happy with its recent expansion of junior ranks(despite the worst courts in Adelaide!). Has Southern got concerns?

look at the ratio per teams.

eastern results are quite ok 3rd in u16s and 3rd or 4th in u12s and ? 4th in u18s - they only had 5 girls teams and 2 won pennants.

I would have thought high number of teams would be a good thing?

Suggesting a ratio of winners v team numbers is counter productive. Shouldn't clubs be encouraged to grow and succeed not shrink for the sake of looking better on a stat?

Reply #494309 | Report this post

I would suggest that only having 5 teams is actually move of a problem than a success, especially over time.

If Forestville just removed all their non-finals teams, you would hardly suggest they are doing better because their ratio is higher.
