Sturt cause Mayhem...

From reports of locals around North Adelaide and Pub Staff, seems the Sturt Basketball Players were a little Drunk and Disorderly on Saturday night...Sponsors weren't too happy indeed!

What are your sources JB?

I was at the Archer - there were plenty of basketballers there, and many were getting a little rowdy.

Sturt players were there, but I don't recall any of them causing any trouble. In fact, other than what you would expect from a pub on a Saturday night (and a little incident at closing time involving a player from a club other than Sturt) I don't recall there being any overly disorderly behaviour at all.

Yeah, chaos elsewhere too -- the Gower vs Oscar monopoly game after the Tigers match-up got heated too. I heard reports that the game was called off because Gower's financial adviser wouldn't agree to any reasonable property trades!

So, by "mayhem" I assume you mean setting cars on fire, serious destruction of public property, etc?

Sounds like Panther has nothing more to do than start rumour and sledge other players now that he has been eliminated from the finals.

I think that you see more disorderly conduct at a South game than you would have on Saturday night.

They told me it was yourself Isaac! Nah just kidding. My sources are staff at the Archer. But you would also have to say they wouldn't know all the Sturt players by face and it could have been other basketballers that were there. Or even Pinheads like the guy above who can only post as anonymous!

It was a great night that's all i can say. Nice to see so many teams repersented. I just feel sorry for the non basketball people. Way too many giants running around at the archer and Oxford.

Its good to see that the ABA players seem to be socialising together a lot more this season, even if it is just that they happen to be in the same pub on the same night.

Both places were full of basketballers, and for a non basketballer it was hard to chat with anyone that didnt want to talk about how many points they scored or how many boards they got.

You should have come and spoken to me, if I did that it would've been a very short conversation!!!
I think it was a big night out for most basketballers...

Panther,
I was at the Archer Saturday night. There were plenty of clubs represented - including Sturt. The only incident I recall was with a girl from a club (not Sturt) with some bloke at closing time'ish - words were spoken but it didn't seem too bad (not that I could hear). Although I couldn't really see that well past all the tall blokes!! Not sure if this is what you are refering to...
The Sturt people all seemed well behaved - the girls team were all getting team photo's taken with their coach!!

the Oxford was crazy Saturday night...couldn't move from midnight till closing...my 5'4 Asian friend was that much out of place...

Oxford was pretty good.

The only problem with the night was going down about $200 in black jack at the casino at the end of it, $200 spent on alcohol and about $50 in cab fares makes for an expensive night on the town.

Ha Ha use your real name baron. That is a very funny story. You were a mess before you even made it to the archer!!

The only incident i saw was 2 girls having a punch up on the way out. A couple of glasses got smashed but that was it. Everyone else was well behaved in my opinion.

However I was quite disturbed with one of the sturt players choice of clothing. I think blue cotton vests should be outlawed. ha ha

Good night
