with a more refined bigman. They need a big who can create his own shot because there backcourt lacks legit play makers who can create a shot for a guy like Coocke who is a pick and roll player.Infact outside of Cotton they do not have anyone who can create anything.

Cooke is not really the problem. They don't have sufficient dribble penetration from 1 to 3. That's not something you would usually get from a 4 or 5. If their 4 had legit post moves, that would be an improvement, but they currently are not breaking down defencive schemes, and generating openings or mis matches. They are stagnant. Even with shooters like Dex or Clint, without motion, defenders can maintain their favoured positions.

If we had Jameel Mckay on Sunday instead of Cooke I think we go close to beating NZ .....we had no match up for Pledger esp after Gus got in foul trouble.
Cooke is also going to get nailed on his lean in and drop the shoulder screens too.
I just think JM gives us boards, blocks and solid D, Angus is your more trad 5 and with the outside shooting ...it just makes sense if we can get him to make the change now.
