LIsch out again.

Well I hate to say I told you so but Lisch's first training session yesterday has resulted in re injuring his calf again.
Of course they are talking it down but are they seriously allowing him to have a couple of full trainings under his belt and then play an NBL game, they are deluded.
He's had 2 months off and probably still needed at least a few weeks of light training, leading up to full trainings in that time.

It was silly even trying to play him again, give him the rest of the season off to recuperate and have him fit and firing again next season.

Yep, unless I'm mistaken he's contracted for one more year. I'd rather just sit him, give up on this season, and make sure he's 100% next season.

im not sure they should keep him unless he is on a lot less money. Too injury prone these days and as a result cant be relied on as a pillar of any team. He was injured as well last year.

To me he is now in Kirk Penny category or similar to former Knight when you sign him up as an off the bench veteran where you assume you can get use out of him but hes not your core team when he does get injured.

Yup, agree, Anon... It was a risk this season that they should have foreseen coming back from off-season surgery by getting a proper import PG to start the season, but no...

Then, wow, he gets injured, WHO could have seen that coming?! Now they rush him back for a busted up season and look what happens... This really is a fucked up organisation and Gaze is all about the fucking positives and improving the culture? Why? It's not like any of these players will want to stay here next season...

Lisch is getting older, some niggling injuries turning into longer injuries and he's still got a season to go (along with Newls and Blanchfield) it's not just this season that has gone to shit (as well as last seasons) it's not looking all that positive for next season either... So much for building for the future and making the playoffs as a minimum...

Anon Kirk Penney and Knight were both still starting until Knight retired. And why would you get rid of him? He's a fringe boomer at his best which means he's better than just about everyone in the NBL at this point in time, don't try to argue that Martin, Gibson or Goulding are better they're all one way players.

So you wish a player a season ending injury, Anon? Very classy...

Soleus strain and out for another 1-2 weeks. With Sixers win over NZ last night, mathematically more likely the 4th & final spot will need 15 wins.

It'd be interesting if we see more 'ailments' popping up to cement the claim to an injury ravaged season, though Fearney could rubbish that excuse this season.
