Premier League Round 5

North (3-1) vs Sturt (1-3)
Sturt have been struggling, with significant losses to top 4 sides already. They'll need to start beating some of these teams and no better week to start. Starling is a level above but there will be an interesting battle between the leagues underperforming import guards.

North by 12.

Centrals (1-3) vs Southern (4-0)
South knocked Centrals down a peg in a disappointing loss while Southern handled business at home vs Woodville. Can Centrals slow the Tigers down or will they get steam rolled as their first 4 opponents have?

Tigers by 8 but Centrals to have a red hot crack and be leading at 3/4

Eastern (0-4) vs West (3-1)
West slipped up last week but won’t shoot poorly two weeks in a row. Mavs have had more success scoring since the arrival of Rios but have given up 129 and 109 the past two weeks.

West too smart in a 17 point win.

South (3-1) vs Norwood (3-1)
Game of the round. Both teams looking to solidify themselves in the top 5 and coming off 30 point wins. Battle will come down to Norwood’s spread of scorers against Souths guard play. Shorne vs McGriff also important.

Norwood by 3 but Eian Davis to score 40.

Woodville (1-3) vs Forestville (1-3)
Plenty of positives for both sides last week - Forestville getting off the mark and Woodville posting 91 against Southern. If the Warriors can contain Doyle and Teys they’re a chance. Perry and Osborne seem to be living up to the hype and hitting their straps. Of course the big question is will DJ play?

Forestville by 5 but would be a different story at St Clair.

Good job and great to see them up.

Quick agree with the tips. Sturt are struggling and seeing them struggle brings a tear to my eye. Southern should be all over the Lions like a bad suit. Lions probably unlucky to be 1-4 at the end of the round, but if they throw out their spinnaker they should end up mid pack at the end of the year.

Struggle Town: Population Eastern Mavs. West to get an easy win as the Mavs ponder how to get their season back on track, at least they play Sturt soon.
South and Norwood should be a beauty with Norwood slight favourites, but I reckon South will upset them late in the 4th.
Woodville and Forestville - I'm actually thinking Woodville could get them, but then again Woodville using Wayville as a "home ground" - playing Forestville. That's like playing Team USA at Madison Square Gdns and calling it an "Aussie Home court"

On the women's side.....
Sturt v North: Gee game of the round here. One of these teams won't be undefeated after this round. That's Sturt. BTW. Is Jo Hill a bloody legend or what!
Mavs v West: Should actually be more entertaining than people think. I'm actually leaning towards the Mavs here. Dare I say, the Mavs might Basham around
South v Norwood: Hard to see the Pantheresses trouble the Flames too much with this one all over at half time.
Lions v Tigers: Another cracker of a game. Tigeresses along way from the jungle and the Lionesses are set for a great season. Lots of claws out in this one. Lionesses to have their claws dug in at the final siren.
Warriors v Eagles: This could be an interested game, but Eagles might just know the rings a little better.

I think it's now safe to say Nate Garth is a flop.

Is North's defence that good?

Forestville women beat Woodville with only six players for most of the game. Not sure how Woodville would be feeling right now.

What happened to Reed? Injury?

Why did South imports play limited time?

Forestville & DJ proving the doubters wrong. Gotta be title favourites now.

DJ off to Europe soon, hence the need to play charades of qualifying him. Started actually playing tonight to get into game shape before he leaves. Will Forestville even make finals without him?

Rios 45 and a narrow loss to defending premiers. Forget Starling and Reed, Wise III and Rios proving to be the leagues best import combo.

Don't let the 0 wins 5 losses get in the way of Rios and Wise being the greatest combo in the league, potentially the world.

The best import duo in the league combined for 12 rebounds. 2 assists. 6 turnovers. Almost as good as Nate

Can someone explain what is going on with coaches at Sturt

Last night with limited seconds left with Sturt down by 4 they had a front court baseline ball. Sturt call time up. Then the Sturt coaching panel (5 or 6) discussed what to do amongst themselves for the entire time out before rushing back to explain the play. You guessed it - turnover on pass - game over. Is this team coached by committee of by the head coach. Make a call coach!!!

Sturt men still have a load of talent. They shouldn't be only scoring 49 points for a game and lose by 31. North aren't that good. Does the coach know what he is doing? Why can't he get more out of that group?

"with no CJ for the second half"
Can we please stop acting like CJ Reed is an average basketball player?

CJ reeds stats
36% fg
26% 3pt
10.6 ppg
2.6 apg
4.4 rpg
1.8 Topg
1.2 spg

And so far has seemed to play 0 d! HE is riding the coat tails of Starling harder than any other player Starling has played with.

what is with all the BS biggest dick comments that our Import duo are the best in the league..?

to be honest it means jack shit if you lose..

would prefer the title with mediocre imports and a GREAT team across the board

Hallelujah cat, every week some idiot, and I think it's the same person, keeps crapping on how good Wise is. Ain't done shit, scored a few points because they literally have a reserves team out there, can't rebound, can't defend and must drive the coach nuts with lack of effort. Look at his stats from other leagues, think he averaged 6 rebounds once, my nanna could do better.
Have to give props for rios's 45 points though.
So Wise fans, stfu please, at least until they ever get a win.
