Great pickup. Damo's eventual replacement. All Perth fans need to apologize to their GM. He’s won the preseason so far. Added two outstanding guys and filled definite needs. Wildcats are back in business.

With an ageing core, Perth needed to pull some serious strings, and if this is true, Im more than happy with Norton and Kay signing. Kay is without doubt the most promising player in his position and likewise with Norton.

most of the ageing core will likely be gone. Kenny, Hire and possibly walker not sure.

"Great pickup. Damo's eventual replacement"

I feel like he is already is Damo's recplacemnt.

IMO they'll start damo. The crowd loves giving him a massive cheer when hes announced, have him out there to set the tone, have his leadership, etc.

But after a few minutes bring Norton on. Then for the rest of the game Norton will play the starters minutes and Damo more of the bench ones.

They'll keep Martin more rested and healthy during the season and hopefully get him through unscathed. He was struggling at times during the season especially the rounds with 2 games.

"All Perth fans need to apologize to their GM."

No. The GM needs to apologise for doing absolutely nothing mid-season to save our title hopes.

It's complicated.
From what I have been told, the penalty "tax" for exceeding the soft cap is negotiable. with JL trying to balance the league. Wildcats had negotiated theirs, and any further increase in salary payments would have triggered a massive penalty. Even after Knight retired.
Consider also that the last thing the league needed was another Wildcats win.

Thank you for the insight #221.

So were Utd penalised too with Felix coming in? or were injury replacements exempted?

Negotiating penalties seems rather arbitrary and open to manipulation by head office.

2 massive signings for the 'cats, kudos to them. Makes all those impatient fans look pretty silly now.

just a tad! luckily we have a totally impartial head office so there is nothing to be concerned about!

Its not as though we have a huge league or a lot of teams paying massive overs last season. Only 3 teams to manage in this regard.
I would imagine that when Devondrik got injured, they were allowed to spend big on a replacement, but nobody wanted to see them dominate and win another ring with another late season signing.
