Premier League Round 6

Short and sharp this week.

Norwood vs North
Game of the round. Norwood have a deeper squad but can't write off Starling. Webber vs Reed also a critical matchup.

Norwood by 4

West vs Woodville
Bearcats survived a scare in Mt Barker last week, while Woodville ran into a finally full strength Forestville. I think West had the wake up call they needed.

West by 8 in a scrappy game

Southern vs South
Tough one to predict but South have struggled against some of the better teams. Tigers size too much in this one.

Southern by 11

Eastern vs Sturt
Mavs inching closer to getting off the donut, Sturt proving last week they can’t hang with the big boys. Is this Nate Garth’s coming out party?

Mavs by 3

Forestville vs Centrals
Hard to see Forestville losing to anyone now, despite Centrsls plucky style of play.

Forestville by 25

Is that in Europe?

South America. So all those "experts" saying he's “going to Europe” completely wrong and misinformed. Get an atlas and check your facts.

But they were all correct he was going.

Nope. If you cannot get it geographically correct where he's going then it doesn’t count.

So DJ is not playing?

Are any of Reed, Ivory Young or Riccardo Martin playing?

And yet most would consider Ginobli a European player.

OP, thanks for your weekly write ups - assuming you're the same person who has been doing so thus far?

Question for you though? Why the lack of love for Southern Tigers? Each week you're putting asterisks next to their wins due to the opposition not have a player at full strength etc and then predicting that the tip against South this week will be a tough one.

Have you noticed that they're averaging around 105pts a game whilst keeping opponents to about 75pts a game? Surely they're convincing favourites each week given their great start of 5 x 30pt avg wins and 4 of their starting five (Johns, Brine, Mays and Turnage) being a level above and dominating the comp so far.

Another 30+ pt win today (38 to be exact) over South. Let's see some more love for them in future write ups! ;)

My call, easy, early season favourites to win it all given "the big four" that they have... (plus some very handy players coming in off the bench - Dodman, Ellison etc)

Tigers again very lucky to only win by 38.
Mavs are 1 game closer to finals.
Did North lose again?
Probably doesn't count because Starling and Reed, the best import combo in the league didn’t get a full weeks rest, or a full nights sleep or something similar.
Norwood very lucky to beat the best defence in the league by 13

Or maybe.

Norwood and Southern might be the best teams this year and people may have to acknowledge that.

Forestville with Dj is like hooded melo.

Can't wear your hoodie in regular season.
Can’t play your Dj if he’s in Argentina in the European side of South America.

But yeah absolutely.

He will be gone a matter of weeks. Forestville handled centrals at full strength today without him, whereas Tigers struggled past them missing their best player.

They will make finals without him, he'll play enough to qualify & they’ll win the title easily.

Very relevant. Both teams had a really hard time winning by 16 and 20 against the juggernaut of centrals. He'd wanna do a Nate Garth if Forestville are gonna make finals. Let alone win them

Just no consistency by refs is major problem, different combinations interpret different things. Now teams not only have to prepare for opposition teams but look at referee lineup as well.
