NZ NBL Import Rules

I understand the NZ NBL is seen as a development league for the national team though will we eventually see a change to the 3 import rule which includes Aussies being deemed as imports ?

Maybe a rule where 1 or 2 x Aussies 2 x Imports allowed a team or something along those lines
