Goldfields Giants seeking Aussie big men
The Goldfields Giants of the Western Australian State Basketball League currently have positions available on our roster for the 2006 SBL season for Aussie 'big men' who are capable of playing the 'four' and/or 'five' spots.
The Giants are based in Kalgoorlie - Australia's gold mining capital - and have been one of the 'power' teams of the competition for the past few years. We are the home team of Leon Williamson, the older brother of Brad Williamson (currently with the Brisbane Bullets). Brad played the 2005 season with us before returning to the Bullets for this current NBL season.
Our team is looking like being one of the strongest in the SBL in 2006, and the addition of one or two quality Aussie 'big men' could be what we need to bring home our maiden championship.
There are 'jobs in plenty' in Kalgoorlie at the moment, and assistance with employment, accommodation and relocation can be negotiated to players who feel they can make a valuable contribution to our team under new head coach Steve Charlton.
The Giants will be doing what we can to field a team capable of winning a championship. If you think you can help, please email us at [email protected]
