Speaking of dumb Friday topics, who knew that in the NBA Summer League you can put up as many fouls as you like in any one particular game?

Seems this guy was the best, clocking up 11 in 26 minutes one game. Another guy got 10 on his way to recording a somewhat-dubious triple double.

DB5 - I'm reasonably sure Danny Fortson holds the record set in this game. 6 fouls in 6 minutes is pretty impressive.

I'm putting my money on Bubba Wells from the Mavericks. Fouled out of the game in three minutes.

Wells was sent in against Dennis Rodman and basically told to use 'hack-a-shaq' technique against him.

6 fouls in 3 minutes is still pretty impressive.

Maybe that's a record Panther may want to take a run at.

Looks like a typical 97 Bulls boxscore: MJ 41 pts and Rodman 27 boards!

A very interesting boxscore indeed, Hoop Addict, and not just for Wells' foul count.

Check out Rodman. He may have been an absolute freakshow, a league commish's nightmare and a creature from a galaxy that, of those among us, only Sixers33, Brad and John Lawrence can identify with.

But it's no coincidence that teams Rodman played with won more often than not. In that game against Dalls, playing in the centre (remember he was listed around 6'8" and 215lbs for most of his career, many felt he was closer to 6'6" and 200), he was two assists away from a bizarre triple double: 11 points, 27 boards, 8 assists. Bizarre, because he hit only 1 FG from 7 attempts. No wonder Wells was instructed to belt him.

Rodman was no role model, but this statline is a good example for the kids. You don't have to nail every bucket or take 30 shots a game to have a major impact.
