How would Mal Hemmerling be feeling?

I feel sorry for the guy, there was so much promise to this season and now it appears to be sinking quickly.

On top of that he must of been expecting a crowd of 5-6k on Wednesday.

Now the next home game is up against the Soccer.

If the sixers lost over $500,000 a year in the past, one must think that it will only get worse this year.

There are alot of different reasons for the $$ value loss of the past, one would think a 4,000 crowd should see Hemmerling coming close to breaking even.

Adelaide has had decent crowd figures for a long time now, compare the crowd numbers to other teams that are still surviving - How many people are expected to turn up at the Razorbacks first home game :-|

Guess you also have to consider this was a unit/team assembled pre-sale, so next year will be Hemmerling's impact year.

DJ, but unless Hemmerling puts up some sneaky dollars, what changes? Still got the same person picking the team, right?

The changes he'll be able to make might relate to ticket pricing and so on, but I don't know if he'll be the type to stray far from what we have currently.

Bullets are owned by Eddie Groves who owns the ABC LC's, very different.

Mal I would not imagines has over $300M like Eddie.

Isaac,

In relation to picking the team, we know this is the first season in a while that Smyth has had more of a say in recruiting, we both know how heavily it was overlooked by previous management.

Givent that the sale was not approved till late in the pre season, there may have been better calibre players who would have liked to sign, but the lack of stability at the club, financially, put them off from signing.

Given the new sitution, perhaps we can go out and sign some better calibre players next off season.

I would have thought you guys would have realised by no that Mal is not the team "owner". He may be running things on the outside but the reality is the Dome and the 36ers were bought with one chq....from ABC

Yogee, Phil has always had the say in who he wanted in the team, he wasn't allowed to do the negotiations after having stuffed-up a few previously.

Yogee, you really do live in a dream world! As above, Phil has ALWAYS had a say in the recruiting.
Its one thing to be supportive of the coach, its another to be blind to the actual realities.

Is Mal Hemmerling not CEO of BSA? If so, what has he got to do with the 36ers?
