O'Hea wins WNBL Rnd 18 POTW
O'HEA NAMED PLAYER OF THE WEEKFoley's 29/6/6 in a win over Dandenong was the best for the Lightning.
Bulleen Boomers guard/forward Jenna O’Hea has been named Player of the Week in Round 18 of the Women’s National Basketball League.
O’Hea turned in an inspiring performance to lift Bulleen past the Canberra Capitals 88-78 in Melbourne on Saturday.
After a tense start from her Melbourne-based side, the 22-year-old was the first Bulleen player to score a basket and settle the nerves of her teammates.
O’Hea went coast to coast several times in the game and was the go-to player for Bulleen. She came up with clutch shots when the Boomers needed to reign in the Capitals.
The Jayco Opal scored a team high 28 points on 11-of-18 shooting from the field at 61 per cent. She stroked 6-of-7 from the charity stripe and grabbed eight rebounds and a steal and recorded one assist in the encounter.
The former Nunawading junior also earned the award in Round 15 and finishes the regular season ranked as the third best distributor in the league, dishing 4.7 assists per game, ranked third in foul shot percentage (83.6) and 10th in defensive rebounds (4.6).
O’Hea just beat fellow Jayco Opal Lauren Jackson to this week’s accolade. Jackson scored 40 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for the Capitals as they succumbed to Bulleen.
