Phillips Earns Player of the Weeks
Australian playmaker Erin Phillips was white hot on Wednesday night when her team Wisla Can-Pack blew out TTT Riga in Krakow.
The 1.73m guard racked up 25 points, four rebounds, six assists and six steals while only committing one turnover in 37 minutes of action.
It did not hurt her case that she was 4/6 from inside the arc and a stunning 5/6 from beyond the three point line.
All this accumulated in an efficiency of 37, ahead of everybody else this week.
Having not had the best start into the campaign, the Polish side needed a win to stay in contention and did so in impressive fashion.
Wisla, driven by a relentless Erin Phillips stormed out of the gates, produced a neck-braking 23-7 first quarter and never looked back after that.
Fenerbahce have made the most noise in the Player of the Week rankings so far and there was not much missing for yet another Istanbul award.
Penny Tayler, Player of the Week in week one came up with a ranking of 33 and finished second. In the high scoring Fenerbahce offense the guard once again convinced everybody with high percentage shooting and a great overall contribution in the win against Lotos Gdynia.
Dewanna Bonner came in third with a ranking of 32, firing Rivas to their first win in the battle on winless teams against Gospic. The do-it-all forward had 30 points and cleaned the glass with 13 rebounds, six of them at the offensive board.
