Albury/Wodonga announce first import signing

Bandits have announced the signing of 6'5 small forward Donte Nicholas as their first import.

Nicholas played NCAA Div II at Metro State University in Denver and one season at Fresno Pacific University in California.

He also had a stint in the NBA D League with Santa Cruz.

Looks like a good pickup. Nice roster coming together if they can sign a big power forward/centre with their other import spot.

Bringing back Lamar Mallory would be a good move.

Paul, can Mallory play the 5 or is he more of a 3/4?

He's super athletic but probably not strong enough to defend the really big 5's.

Can play the five at a stretch but better suited to the 4.

Playing alongside Opacic suits him because Opacic can defend the other team's centre but plays more outside on offense. Mallory is more of a post player on the offensive end.

Probably need a genuine power forward who can play the 5 spot even though there really isnt a traditional 5 spot in SEABL.Dont think there is a spot for Mallory the way they are looking.

Many players are killing it in the Waratah league and that means nothing.
