Nice size, hopefully they get to see it near capacity regularly.

When will renovations be completed? NBL might need to start the season with an NBL cup style format. With a new franchise in Tasmania probably no better place to host it.

5400 for basketball and 8600 for concerts.

MyState Bank Arena won't be finish till midway through the season, but with covid having an impact on our borders the season will probably start later so it will help Tasmania have the stadium done by then you would think?

"MyState Bank Arena won't be finish till midway through the season," Not sure where that info comes from. The JJ's won't be playing that long on the road.
Source please.

JJs have requested to play first couple of rounds on the road (if the season starts mid October) due to Mystate Arena not being ready. Not sure about midway through the season.
Covid has caused delays in lots of areas including construction.

"Holding 5,500 fully seated, 4,300 for a Basketball or Netball game and 8,600 general admission the MyState Bank Arena is the largest indoor multipurpose venue in Tasmania."
See https://www.mystatebankarena.com.au/about
First upcoming event at DEC, as per https://www.mystatebankarena.com.au/events, is a concernt on November 28 2021. So presumably it'll be available for NBL games by then, at the latest.

Tassie has become more poplar. Surprised DEC won't have 6,000 8,000+ seats?

You would think they would build something bigger then 5,400, why not 7,000 ?

I know, it's silly. Tasmania is only going to get bigger. Block of land their costs a fortune nowadays.
They should of made it 8,000 like the Adelaide Entertainment Centre.

Umm because it already has a footprint. They are modernising it, not redeveloping the place. I would expect when the dust settles on the JJ's they will go back to the old Devils numbers. 3000+. Would basketball fill a 7000 seat stadium? Unlikely. The AFL can't draw decent crowds any more and it may well be that the AFL is no more in Tassie shortly ;) Maybe the AFL fans will boost the NBL crowds.!

Ticket pricing is a ripoff in Tassie compared to what Victorian's pay.

Yeah you'd imagine the first thing they need to do is make sure that attending a game is affordable before we worry about the amount of seats.
I hate the idea of free tickets but cheap enough to pack them in and create demand for tickets and then raise prices.
This team is funded by LK and Tasmanian government so how long can the and should they run at a loss for with exorbitant prices before they realise that more bums on seats = higher chance at merchandise and attending more games which is what we all want.
As silly as Jackjumpers is for a name (it probably sounds less worse now than when it was announced) I still want to see lots running around in their ant gear

Yes Brookhouse gets forgotten in all of this. Time will tell on both him and Roth. Brookhouse being a good mate of LK's of course. Oh and the Chivers family.
