Surf coast enter Big V in 2022

Interestingly Surfcoast updated their website today stating they play Big V

It says :-

"The Surfcoast Basketball Association (SBA) welcomes all basketball players, coaches, officials and supporters to the Surfcoast Chargers Representative basketball program. The Surfcoast Chargers teams compete in the Big V Men and Women, Country Basketball League (CBL) Men and Women, and the Victorian Junior Basketball League (VJBL) competitions."

For such a young association, they are incredibly impressive!

Glad to see them steeping up into Big V. I'm really impressed with them!

Colac must have come a long way in its basketball development since I lived there as a kid if people are saying they're a chance of playing big V. There was almost nothing there basketball wise in the 90s.

Colac was offered a spot in Big V a few years back and got cold feet at the eleventh hour.

Was talk of them going in this year and Surfcoast knew it would have been left behind if Colac got in and they didn't so went all out.

Be interesting to see what happens next.

I think Surfcoast will become a very good Big V Association in time.

Hopefully this is the start of more country teams in Big V. I have played CBL and played d2 men last season and the standard is almost the same.

Good luck to Surf Coast Association. Well done for getting in there and having a go.

Westgate and Bacchus Marsh have both looked at Big V in the past. Are either of them looking to enter?

Wonthagi are set to join in 2023
