NBL1 Central Round 5

Have missed a couple of weeks but thought I'd take a look around the league.

Norwood vs West
Right contest expected with both teams showing uneven form so far & suffering close losses. Shepard and De Santis are the best scoring wing combo in the league while Harding would be favourite for a most improved award if there was one. Oldest beck court matchup in the league with Spud playing Webber.

West by 4.

Forestville vs Woodville
Forestville surprisingly dropped a game to South while Woodville escaped Norwood and handled Eastern easily. I expect the warriors to take it right up to the eagles here but Rios & Doyle to provide enough back court experience to handle Wurm and Humphries.

Forestville by 7.

Southern vs Sturt
Both teams suffered similar defeats to North last week and while both missed players at u20s I expect Southern’s to have a larger impact. Joel Spear showed why he’s a class performer with 43 against his old side last week and Sam Daly can show improvement while Jacob Rigoni has had a solid return to the league.

Sturt by 3.

Eastern vs North
I assume Koop was injured last week as he was on the bench for Eastern so if he returns this will be closer than people think. North have been fortunate so far in playing under manned sides, but have taken care of business and should again this week, even though it’ll be a challenge.

North by 8.

Centrals vs South
Jeremy Smith looks like he hasn’t missed a beat and South easily have the best import duo in the league. Add to the veterans in the ex Tigers and early COTY favourite Scott Ninnis and these guys are lethal. Centrals had a great win against Mavs before falling short against Forestville. Import Dowdell looks to be in for a huge season.

South by 4.

What happened to Kirksey and the 7 foot Greek guy for the Mavs?
And is Rios classified as a local or will he be deemed as a minor role player to play?

Rios had to be moved on to make room for DJ - seems like loyalty is one way street!

Kirksey moved on so they can have koop and legan , Greek guy still coming

Rojo finally realised you can only have 2 imports ,

If Legan is in as well as Koop then that game against North is even money for mine.

With that depth of talent Mavs are only team capable of challenging Eagles with their final line up

Was 15. Eagles are locker ins for title..DJ alone creates ooffensive monster.. only query is whether DJ in his latter days of career needs some rest or is a player like him better off just playing to.maintsin touch and fitness..been incredibly durable and injury free.

Well if we are to go by his last stint with Forestville, starting the game in sneakers and then immediately subbing out to qualify, of course he would be fresh. Plus the fact he never plays defence he has a lot fewer kms on the clock than other players.
I'm really wonder what loophole the Eagles lawyers will look for now to try and get Rios back if it's true he's made way for Johnson. Maybe biggest and best frontcourt ever in terms of depth, but the backcourt is basically Doyle.

Man was this a slap in the face

Forestville utterly toyed with by Woodville

losing by 50, chemistry issue or not is inexcusable with the level of talent they have
