Tommy Greer steps down as SEM CEO, kind of.

He's not going yet and is going to stay in the job until he finds his own replacement and then will stay on in an advisory role until June 30, 2025.

The press release champions the signings of Mitch Creek, Ryan Broekhoff and Zhou Qi.

Probably got job at nbl headquarters. While Creek can't be denied as a good signing, he was paid a lot, Broekhoff was well past his best due to injuries and Qi was not very good. I know it’s probably not easy but compared to JJs it doesn’t look good.

Would you REALLY want him to hang around, given the issues SEM have faced from the start?

Or was that sweetener the only way they could get him to go?

It's unfortunate that Tassie entered the league so closely to SEM because they will be forever compared, and Tassie would be up there with the very best examples of any sport in this country on how to build a new franchise and embed it into a community. As an outsider the community part of SEM seemed fine, but the roster has just never been there. I wouldn't be surprised if they opened the purse strings this season expecting to see instant success, but it has looked like another example of the poor roster balance which has plagued them from day 1.

Maybe the best thing to happen as the results are Coach gets fired and he stays.

He is the one who is involved in the recruiting of players with the coach but seems to have the final say.
