Sounds like there could finally be some news out of Cairns

Interesting development. Any ideas or rumours about who the Taipans are interested in yet? Have read on a few nbl tracker websites that Alex Ducas might be an option? Would be a great signing for a club, and awesome opportunity for him wanting to obviously return to the NBA with a strong season or two back in the NBL, somewhat similar to Taran in that sense. Would welcome back Cam Oliver as well, might want to boost his NBL stocks after an underwhelming season in Sydney. Been following NBL 1 North as well. Lamar Patterson has been going well with Ipswich. Might be a decent signing but only for a good price. Maybe Tai Webster too?? Anyway, here's hoping we start to pick things up in the coming weeks. Both on and off the court.

On the marketplace today they floated the names of Mitch Creek and Keanu Pinder. More just as good fits than anything they'd actually heard though.

Their PF rotation already looks strong through with Waardenburg/Galloway/AHT

Forde should just stay on and see what he can do with a bigger budget.

New owners like as slim a payroll as possible and like to hire a coach rather than inherit one but I wouldn't be surprised, once this goes through due to it being late in the off-season that the new owners reach out to Forde again. His contract had expired anyway.

It's too bad Mark Arena didn't feel that way.

If they can do it it's probably the right time but we can all kiss our 28 dollar fast break tickets goodbye when it happens

While this is positive news, I still think it's pretty poor that members were expected to stump up their money in April with no coach and minimal/bench players the only signings.

Then the first we hear about it (apart from a very vague/generalised article in the Cairns Post) is through NBL media.

I get the whole commercial-in-confidence argument, but it's hardly the way to get/keep a loyal fan base.

Taipans management have never been good at communicating with season ticket holders let alone the casual fan . Here's hoping new ownership also means new management . Not sure where the build a roster from now but lets hope for 3 good imports and KP back .
