Jaylen Adams to Brisbane

Just announced, suddenly a starting lineup of Adams, another import, Ducas, Prather, and Harrison starts to look pretty damn good

And don't forget a healthy Sam McDaniel either

Meh. Adams was very average last year, a black hole defensively especially. Harrison won't be in the NBL next year.

Big fan of Sammy Mac's too, w14. Watching him all NBL1 season (Bris Capitals).

Adams and Ducas are indeed welcome announcements. I had lost confidence in Bullets, ability to recruit anyone, let alone some one who makes sense! Both badly needed and good gets.

That avail import spot may be needed if Harrison gets an NBA call-up. The way he is apparently doing in the summer league, it's a real chance.

Well I'm happy for long suffering Bullets fans, five minutes after I bagged them for always doing everything on the cheap they've since signed Ducas and Jaylen Adams, two very good gets. No more of this Deng Adel cross your fingers and hope he comes good stuff.

Jaylen Adams has got his faults but at his best he's an MVP level player and who knows Brisbane might be the right fit for him. Glad to see him stay in the NBL regardless.

It's starting to look like they might lose Harrison though which would be a big blow but can't be helped. I think they'll feel the loss of Bannan too.

I like it as a signing for them.

I also think this is a good signing, he's got a point to prove.

Early still but lot teams looking very equal, coaching and consistency of players will decide a lot. JJs probably best set at moment imo.

Could say Adams was mismanaged in Sydney by the last couple of coaches, but will he join that long list of previous star import guards that go downhill. Still better than usual budget options.
If Harrison and Magnay stick it's good for the league in some ways and bad in another. Good that locals get picked up but destroys teams plans, especially those weak in the frontcourt and now have to use an import spot on a big.
I'm not a fan on having teams with extra imports, but maybe teams that lose a player to the NBA can get a supplement import to replace them. Even if there's a spending limit somehow linked to the player leaving, ie two imports for the price of one. Just for round figures, say Magnay earns $500k (I know it's way more) and the budget for the 3rd import is $300k, then Tassie can spread the 3rd and 4th imports out to $800k.
Would help teams that have become disadvantaged by no fault of their own and have little time to sign a quality local replacement or wait for Landale to be waived (that'll piss someone off).
Losing Froling, Pinder and Olbrich already leaves a dearth of talented bigs in the league, now potentially losing the next 2 bigs will either result in small ball or subpar 5s playing.
Anyway, just an idea.

There's a solid supply of NZ big men who could play decent minutes in ANBL

Carter Hopoi
Callum MacRae
Sam Timmins (again)
Jack Andrew

Probably forgetting a few

The NBL always loses it's best bigs to overseas each year, usually Japan. Not much can be done about that even though it's a sub-standard league it's a higher paying league for imports. China even more extreme again.

Pinder, Groves, Olbrich plus potentially Harrison, Hurt, Magnay, Bolden and Sam Froling's injury too.

Timmins isn't NBL standard.

I don't know what's going on here phantom but for the first time in probably 12 months I agree with your post. Teams should be incentivised to sign fringe nba players and not disadvantaged if they do get signed.

Probably only for nba though and not other leagues
