FROM THE NBL WEBSITE:
Tim Keeble of the Illawarra Mercury has reported that the Wollongong Hawks are close to securing the services of former South Dragons import Kavossy Franklin, as well as Singapore Slingers free agent Jeremy Kench.
The Hawks have been looking to consolidate their roster after the loss of a number of key players, including imports Cortez Groves and Adam Ballinger.
The addition of Franklin, who has averaged 19.9 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.4 assists during his three years in the Philips Championship, would go a long way towards rebuilding the team.
"There's a strong likelihood that everything will be sorted out with Kavossy and Kench by the end of the week," Hawks director Richard Clifford confirmed to the Mercury.
Kench, a 186cm guard who played with the Slingers during their inaugural campaign, is a former New Zealand junior international
Meanwhile, the Mercury has also reported that "former Adelaide star and ex-36ers assistant coach Kevin Brooks has been confirmed as an assistant to Wollongong coach Eric Cooks, while former Hawks and Townsville guard Matt Flinn will join the club as a second assistant."
