Hawks in a weak east...

How about those hawks? Al Horford is a monster in the making. the josh's continue to improve and now they have a point guard....
and the most forgotten player in the L in Marvin Williams. They still have sheldon off the bench too...
Obviously not this year but this team is gonna make noise if they get a coach to make it happen.
In a weak east they could be a good roughy for playoff action.....

ps- joe johnson.

You forgot their missing piece which has left them with bad records the past few seasons and that is because they had no decent point guard.
Acie Law will shine in the ATL

Its very easy to look at each team and call them playoff contenders, however probably about 25 of the 30 teams hav legit playoff chances

Yea, I think that the middle-lower ranked teams in both conferences are much more tightly bunched than in the last few years, when there was usually a quite sizable drop off after the top 8-10 teams.

You could make a case for each team in the East that they could make the playoffs if they stayed healthy and their roster gelled. In the West the Clips, Twolves, Sonics and Blazers are probably out of reach this year.

The Hawks improved, filled their major weaknesses and improved their depth. Still not sure if it is quite enough, but I think they could push for a finals spot. Acie Law should help, but teams with rookie PGs aren't known for their consistency.

They have the POTENTIAL to make the playoffs, but because they are Atlanta, they wont.

Still Spurs, Dallas or Phoenix for me but it is
good that there will be alot of improvers.

A Kobe trade could be the difference for one lucky team.
