That is a great result. The signs are there that maybe we can turn the corner. Good to see nbl.com.au as always about as reliable as a Matt Sutton jumpshot. I'm pissed off about this as I wanted to see how Brad Hill was going tonight.

Solid all-round effort. Wests are in a slump after a good start to the year, but we had to win and did, so credit to the players and coaching staff. Hopefully Hodge will add something to the lineup starting on Wednesday.

Sutton got a rebound so he must have hit the court at the end.

36ers won the boards by 10, with great contributions on the glass from the bench, exploiting the Pigs poor bench. After getting smashed on the glass by the Tigers, good to see a team effort grabbing some boards.

Cant tell what defence 36ers played, but suspect Maher has gotten another scalp in Hinson who got no boards and only 3 field goals. Or maybe Davidson did the deed.... maybe Boti will report it.

Sutton and Dodman played the last 1:13. A great game (again) from Ballinger. Copeland again producing at a far greater level than Chappell ever did. 52 points off the bench, not bad going.

It's a shame we couldn't see this game. The boys must've played like they do at practice.

I love the 3 bigs in the starting line-up, Balls's got some relief, Motts doesn't have the foul burden hanging over him, & Scoop's relishing the extention of his role.

It'll be nice settling Hodgey into the line-up with a win under our belt too.

All coming good at the right time.

Saw that too. I've still got a lot of time for Shane Heal as a player and a competitor, but he's got no idea, absolutely no idea, what he's doing coaching that team. They don't have the worst roster in the league and they are an absolute joke.

Geez if Dench can actually do something for the rest of the season and the Import adds another 20 points to the game.....sky is the limit with this team, I would forgive dench for EVERY Turnover if he scores 10points consistantly from now on, well every turnover hes done sofar....

If Dench continues like this for the rest of the season, I am prepared to eat humble pie after making comments like "for all he does, he may as well not show up". However, it takes more than just one sunny day to make a summer. He needs to lift for the rest of the season to give back any credibility to his position on the team. It was encouraging to see that he has the ability to play like he did last night but its also annoying to see that he hadn't done it before now.

Good result and a crucial win. To be fair to Dench, this isn't the first game where he's played fairly well.

Looks like some of the shine has come off the Pigs' season. Could leave Adelaide as the last team within striking distance of the eight, though I haven't checked their schedule for the remainder of the season.

Ah, what's a few kilos here or there, eat as much as you like.

How about we acknowledge the positives & give him some rousing applause when he's announced next home game? When someone's down on confidence, support & encouragement would be more productive, than drowning the guy in negatives.

DDFan. I don't think I was drowning him in negatives, I voluntarily admitted that I may be wrong and would eat humble pie if he continued his good form. I also said it was encouraging to see him have the ability to play well. We are currently 9th on the ladder and have been down lower. If everyone had played to their full potential, we would be in a much better position right now. Before the season started, there was a general consensus amongst posters on this forum that they predicted the 36ers to finish 4 or 5th. You talk about his confidence, I don't know when he lost his confidence because he hadn't been playing well at all this season. There were no negative posts early on to give him a complex about his performance. The fact of the matter is that what he did last night should have been evident a lot sooner. I can praise him non stop for last night's performance, but you can't get back what you've lost until now. Home losses like the ones to Townsville and the Gold Coast were disturbing. You can't reverse those. Chappell was not the only poor performer on the team.
