Cancelled or postponed? Does it cover games at the Dome and Starplex?

Here is the news from sporting pulse

Due to the excessive heat over the past week, all junior district games on the night of Thursday March 13 (Under 16 Division 3, 4 and 5 Boys) have been cancelled.

Given the high predicted temperatures for Friday and Saturday, junior district games on these days at non air-conditioned stadiums (ie stadiums other than the Dome and Starplex) may also be cancelled. A decision on these games will be announced on this site the day before the games, ie on Thursday for Friday night games, and on Friday for Saturday morning games.

For games that have been cancelled, a decision on whether or not to replay these games is yet to be made. The outcome of this decision will be posted on this site.

Senior district games on the night of Wednesday March 12 will be played as scheduled, with modified timing rules including an officials' time out at the half way point of each quarter if a time out has not already been called, and an extra minute's break at quarter, half and three quarter time.

Surely they have to reschedule the games even if over a couple of weekends.

A big deal was made of levelling up the games played between each club so draws are fair to all - this goes by the wayside 2 weeks into the season if not rescheduled or where some games go ahead and others don't.

Doesn't have to happen all at once - can be spread out.

Anon above - The main thing is that kids are not put at risk due to excessive heat!

Who cares if they are cancelled or rescheduled - Think of the welfare of the kids first and foremost.

If you want to win that much - grow up
