Andrew "The Prayer" Webber

Love or hate him on the court, love him or hate him off the court. The shot he made tonight from just inside half court is the type of shot that juniors that want to play in the NBA dream about doing. Making the last shot of the game to win the championship.

As for the game.

Thoughts??

Best for Norwood: Webber, Mattews Thompson

Best for Forestville: Sutton, Sullivan, Dougie

Talk about some premature celebrations in that game! Krause celebrating his 3 pointer to tie the game, and forgetting to get back on D, Hoban doing his nut after hitting the seemingly game winning lay up (then missing the bonus)

Well from what it seems like the general opinion is that Norwood were the superior team on the night except when it counted in the last quarter. It seems like all the people complaining are forrestville supporters. They could have sewn it up earlier but they didn't, deal with it as one that got away.

I felt so sorry for Dougie! In the first half when his team was strugglin, he stepped up at both ends of the court to keep them in it. Then in the second half he played great D...esp on Krause, only to be taken off with 5 mins to go and have his man(Krause) hit his only shot for the game to tie it away with 8 seconds to go whilst Dougie was sitting on the bench. Then to go out there and speak the way he did was amazing!!! No doubt if he was out there Krause would not have gotten off that 3 and Forestville would be celebrating! I think everyone apart from norwood supporters wanted Dougie to be holding up the trophy. Well done #33...you deserved better!!!

If Norwood had made even an average percentage of foul shots the game would have been theirs comfortably. And yes the final shot was lucky but as they say, the harder you work, the luckier you get. If Forestville had deserved to win, it wouldn't have come down to one basket in the last second.

At the end of the day what a way to win a GF, but also what a way to lose one.

From the mouths of Green Day...
"Nice guys finish last"

One upside is that hopefully this could result in a bunch of retirements at Norwood.

theres no doubt some of the norwood guys are top blokes but yes some are extremely well disliked, krause handled him self well last night and todd matthews is a true professional fouled out and kept his mind on helping the team even from the bench

basketball 101: don't stop playing D until the siren sounds.

Norwood were the better team on the night. They out played, out guarded and out coached a dismal looking eagles side. The eagles only bought 2 - 3 players to the game while the Flames had everyone focussed.

How will they go at the National C'ship's? In with a good chance if they can repeat last night's team work and smart coaching.

Eagles in Melb against Melbourne.
Flames in Adel against Sandringham I think.

If they both win, they will play each the following week in Melbourne.

Both playing Big V finalists - interesting Big V have the best of 3 tournament. Wonder how that would have panned out here?

As an avid Eagles person, the better team won the game. Eagles were woeful in the first half!

MH, forgetting Oakley with 19 and 17?? If Eagles had have won he would have been MVP.

Pretty hard for the Eagles to win a game with one of their starting 5 missing. Arnold 2 pts in 20 mins?? What happened? A royal choke I would say against his old team, no excuse in such a big game.

basketball 101...i beleive that Norwood and Forestville will only play each other again if they make the national grand final. Norwood are a chance as their draw is a lot easier...as it should be since they won. They play the wildcard entry from Big V next week here in Adelaide, then if they get that they go to the final 4 (semi final against the winner of QABL and Warratah)in melbourne the following week ....couldn't ask for a better schedule really...it's definately not out of the question for the Flames to get to the grand Final...they just have to re focus after what was an unbelievable win saturday night.
Forestville will find it tough. They have to go to Melbourne to play the winner of the Big V for their quarter final and have to do it without Trent Fildes as he is going back to college this week. If somehow they manage to get a win, they too will go to the final 4 the following week but will have to meet the overall SEABL champion in the semis to advance to the Grand final...something that ya just can't see happening!
Good luck to both teams!
