With all the recent forum talk of player poaching/recruiting, here's a non-hoops story about a soccer whiz catching the eye of the big boys - at age 9.

It's the equivalent of the LA Lakers keeping an eye on a gun U/10 hoopster in Adelaide.

Funny you should mention the equivalent there. Was talking to someone during the week about age in basketball and soccer. They were saying that if someone hadn't made an impact in soccer by 18 or 19, they were generally discarded and had "had their chance".
The same thing in basketball can be a bit later given the need to develop strength in addition to skill.
