Erin wanted $200k? Who is telling the truth?

Boti reported in the advertiser today that a former wnbl champion wanted $200k which is said to be close to double what Jackson would be paid, and he then suggests that when she was offered $60k she was looking to negotiate at least $130k

In the sunday mail last week another reporter interviewed Erin who was reported as saying that Adelaide Lightning had not even approached her or made her an offer of any kind.

It was said that Lightning simply said her price would be too high

Sounds to me like Boti is trying to protect Vince and reading between the lines the Marino ownership would not be interested in Phillips because she would take away the main guard spot from Ang

What do people think, is Boti holding back on reporting the truth in this case?

Personaly I think E.Phillips should be the starting point guard and Ang plays the 2 spot.

HEARD around the traps a former WNBL regular's initial asking price for a summer at home was $200,000, roughly double what the game's greatest player - Lozza - allegedly earns when playing for Canberra.

When offered a still unrealistic $60,000, the word is she said: "Let's split the difference at $130,000."

Nice.

Had no on-the-record confirmation of this story but have heard it three times and from three different, reliable sources.

Dandenong were chasing Penny Taylor - more likely she was the person wanting that money rather than Phillips. Marino at off guard and Phillips at point would make a stong pairing. Marino can shoot, I guess it is the number of shots she takes may be the issue but her % is too bad.

Mia has signed with Townsville - and Amy Lewis would start in front of both Marino (if at the 2) and Hill.

"holding back on reporting the truth" would be not talking about the subject at all, or not touching on figures at all in his reporting.

Suggesting Boti made up the figure to protect an owner is ludicrous.

Who cares if asked for $200,000? if she can get that or more in europe, why wouldn't she ask for it. I understand that Jackson plays for much less than shes worth when she comes home, but she doesn't do it for the money. Obviously, different athletes have different motivations.

But obviously no one can pay $200K. So thats not what she is worth. Not to mention that any team that pays her that much, would not recoup this amount in sponsorship or season tickets.

Are we sure Ang is playing? There has been nothing mentioned of her being in the Team? Is she? Yes Ang is a perfect 2 spot Ushiro.

knowing Erin and speaking to her previously. she would almost never consider Adelaide as she weren't even allowed to train with them last year in preparation for Opals

Jackson has never received as little as $100,000 for a season with the caps.

Most recent offer has been $1,000,000 for signing for 3 out of next 5 seasons, which works out to at least $200,000 for 5 seasons.

Perhaps perhaps that is $300,000 for EACH of the 3 playing seasons, and then $50,000 for promising NOT to play against them in the other 2 ???

GO CAPS !!!
