Music Man wants your help!

Hey guys

Less than a month to go until our first home game. Looking for new fresh song suggestions.

Preferably stuff with a good strong beat and nothing with swearing.

What you got?

I reckon you should play "Hit the Road Jack" when an opposition player fouls out.

Playing To Win - John Farnham
Final Countdown - Europe
Bound For Glory - Rose Tattoo

And please, please, PLEASE, if we are looking at a deadset win, can we get in an old school classic of "Can You Feel It" by the Jackson 5, like the good ol' days!

Not so sure how new and fresh those songs are Anon107

Think they have a combined age of over 100 years old.

Can you feel it will continue as our winning song I would imagine.

Don't forget to keep the classics: (there is hell to be had if these change)
Thunderstruck for the intro
Moskau
Chelsea Dagger
TNT for the third?fourth? quarter beginning
Hit the Road Jack (opposition foul out)
Can you feel it (when we win)

A little return to the past:
Thank God I'm a Country Boy, John Denver (whenever this played the 36ers were doing well...good memories)
Wrap Me Up by Alex Party (Another good song to play in a 36ers offence)

...And in with the new
Hall of Fame by The Script
Throw Your Hands Up by Qwote feat. Pitbull (definite one to use)
Good Time by Owl City and Carly Rae Jepsen
Call Me Maybe by Carly Rae Jepsen
No Light by Florance and the Machine (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HGH-4jQZRcc 1min
Feel the love by Rudimental (feat Johnny Newman)
Levels by Avicii (definite)
mark, the tune is brilliant)
Bliss N Eso by Addicted (There is a slightly explicit version, but there would be a clean one, and it has a good tune (Hamish & Andy used it on the Euro Gap Year)
Sing it by Drapht
Payphone by Maroon 5
We'll Be Coming Back by Calvin Harris ft. Example
Chasing the Sun by The Wanted (definite!)
Glad you Came by The Wanted

...You'll hate me but I'm serious
As Long As You Love Me by Justin Bieber
(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v-FVihIlU2g 1:50, the tune is pretty decent)

Something that is different but could work
Ai Se Eu Te Pego by Michael Telo (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YAR5bQirWKc)

Talking about a combined age of 100 years - I always thought the extracts from some of Cosy Powell's stuff (a brilliant drummer from half way though last century) woud add some beat, foot-stamping and clapping - Dance with the Devil and Na Na Na Na.

OK - I'll go back to my wheel chair!

Mate, play whatever you like, as long as it has a good tempo. I do think the Denver 'Feather Bed' piece worked surprisingly well.

Whatever you play just remember it's a basketball game and keep the music to the breaks unless there's a reason to use a 'spike' when something spectacular happens.

Swamping the action with pop/rock that is irrelevant to the action disrespects the game & the players and prevents the crowd interacting with what is happening on the court.

A great snippet is from INXS "Just Keep Walking" for an ejection - "shove brother just keep walking..."
For a finely dressed coach zz top "sharp Dressed man"
"Am I Ever Gonna See Your Face Again?"

"Club Can't Handle Me (feat. David Guetta)"
V Spy V Spy "AO Mod"

Skip, doesnt matter what you play, as long as there are no periods of dead silence. Imagine the nightmare it would be if there was a brief period at the game where you could actually hear the ball, or sneakers on the court.

In general, less indie dance/pop and more hip-hop/R&B building on what you had last year and you're set.

Love the idea of playing Whistle (Flo Rida) when the crowd gets stuck into the refs - although only play it occasionally since we get stuck into them for... 40mins?

Skip - the "walking" song played when someone travels: what's the name of the song? I always get a kick out of that!

How about no music at all and let the basketball convey the emotion. Oh wait ... that suggestion is so awesome that it sucks. My bad!

Please play "Hey baby" by DJ Otzi more.

I loved the one time when you played it when we were up 10 with 1 minute 40 left against the Blaze - then Worthington hit a 3 and then he hit another one ... and everyone started panicking ... and then you kept playing it even though we were struggling and the Sixers needed the crowd to get behind them but we couldn't because of "HHHHHHEEEEYYYY BBBABBBY, I WANNNA KNNOOWW OH OH OH WILL YOU BE MY GIRL". Nothing screams basketball like DJ Otzi professing his love for a girl.

Needless to say we lost and to my dying day I will blame you and DJ Otzi.

Hey "Music Man" thanks for ignoring our recommendations. All I heard this afternoon were the same lame after lame tracks. Your track selection is akin to the worst DJ in the NBL Wayne Petersen, are you his twin brother? Next time don't bother asking.
