maybe the NBL stars in Mitch Creek, Aaron and Shaun Bruce can get some money together and save such a great club in Victorian Basketball. Could help kickstart a community driven committee so the team returns in 2014.

Players such as Shane Mcdonald, John Phillip and Liam Norton are other notable players who have played with the Hornets in recent years who have also gone on to play NBL.Damon Lowery also had a spell in the early 90's.

Much of the success of the players has to do with Owen Hughan who is regarded around Australia as one of the best coaches this country has ever had. He had a stroke a few years back and the program has slowly declined as he put in tremendous amount of work into the kids of Horsham.

Sad day for basketball not only in Victoria but Australia. So many country clubs are dying.

This is so sad. The Hornets have been a huge part of the Basketball communitty in Victoria for so long. It is a huge shame.

Surely the local communitty can save this from happening? This is not just a huge loss for basketball but also the local comunity of Horsham.

C'mon people lets try to help them out...

Fingers crossed that this is only a 12 month break.

Horsham have been a huge part of the Big V family and this is a huge shame to see them go.

Unfortuantly look at all the clubs that 'go away for a season' to develop their program and then never return... Warragual, Darebain, Swan Hill, Echuca, Wangarrata, Shepparton are the only ones to return.

Imagine if they could pull together a team of home grown talent for a season?

McDonald
S. Bruce
Picket
A. Bruce
Norton
Creek
Phillip

thrown in Collier for one more big

That would be pretty handy! Would win Big V Champ!!

I think they need to find a way to make this work. This is puts the Big V back a fair bit with this loss.

Is the Big V working to try and hel them through this?

They could put together a gun team but most of those guy don't live in Horsham any more so would never happen.

Their CBL would be good enough to play Big V. Maybe not a finals contender but all the players are based in Horsham.
