Corin Henry gets Round 10 POTW

Henry turned in a scorcher on Saturday night as the Kings pulled off a stunning upset win over the New Zealand Breakers, 75-62.

The 180cm American thrilled the sell-out crowd at the Sydney Olympic Park Sports Centre by scoring a round-high 29 points, as well as adding five rebounds and three assists. Henry scored 14 fourth-quarter points, including three big three-pointers to help seal the boilover win over the defending Champions.
Perth Wildcats duo Kevin Lisch and Mike Dunigan were also both legitimate candidates for the weekly hardware in Round 10. Import Dunigan impressed on debut for the Wildcats in their 80-68 home win against Wollongong on Friday, scoring 19 points and adding four rebounds and one block. He then added 16 points, 13 rebounds, two steals and one block as the 'Cats overpowered the Adelaide 36ers 91-85 in overtime on Sunday.

Lisch had 14 points, three rebounds and two assists in Perth's win over Wollongong and then helped drive the 36ers to victory against Adelaide. After a slow first half by his own lofty standards, the reigning NBL MVP took the game over at the end of regulation and led Perth to the win in the extra period. He had 18 points, two rebounds, two steals and one assist for the match.

Townsville Crocs duo Luke Nevill and Gary Ervin also were legitimate candidates for the Round 10 honours. The giant Nevill had 26 points, seven rebounds, three assists and two blocks, while Ervin added 26 points, five rebounds, three assists and three steals as the Crocs recorded their second win of the season with an 85-84 home win over Melbourne.

Other contenders for Player of the Week in Round 10 included Chris Goulding (Melbourne), Daniel Johnson (Adelaide), CJ Bruton (New Zealand), Jonny Flynn (Melbourne) and Oscar Forman (Wollongong).

Lische didn't really deserve consideration unless you place a buttload of weighting on his game-tying three against Adelaide.

I still have concerns about the NBL calling 5 other players "legitimate contenders", but great work for Mighty Mouse! Proving the haters wrong and those few that had faith in him from the start right :)
