2015 Big V Divisions - whose in which ones?

Does anyone have a list of what teams are going to be in what Big V Divisions next year?

There seems to have been a lot of movement and some of the numbers don't add up.

qty over quality. Big V should be ashamed of some of the recent decisions about who they have let enter teams. A glorified domestic comp for 1/3 of them.

Yet again, the "comparison to domestic" slag. Dull. Ill-considered and without context.

Of the Camberwell D1 womens team how many are juniors?Alot of recruiting going on, what about junior development?

Happy Days, I get where your coming from, however, if the juniors aren't there, you can go with the approach of building something super exciting and talented that all the juniors can then aspire to. The current U18s wouldn't be up to it, however, if the senior program is successful (which they should be) then that will create excitement and a pathway for the current u12s and u14s in the years to come.

As for teams changing divisions;
Shepp to D1M
Sth Pen to SCW
Western Port to D1W
Mildura with YLM
Mornington with YLW
A lot of talk from one of the teams out Casey/Pakenham/Keysborough way (can't remember which 1) of them trying to jump from D2M to SCM
Supposedly Melbourne to SEABL (or at least trying)

Some teams should be made to go down a division, will be interesting to see if any have volunteered to step down a division or been "Strongly encouraged" to go down a division. On that note, what should BigV do with teams who are horrible in D2?

I think Melbourne to SEABL is on the cards some time in the future.Would they play out of MSAC?

There seem to be a significant number of new teams joining YLW - heard it will be two divisions next year?

Also, Hawthorn have been sprouting that their YL team will be going to YCW, any truth and who is coming down if they go up?

On the old junior development issue, there are too many very good juniors at the bigger VJBL clubs that can't, once they've finished juniors, get a game in their home YL or higher teams, why wouldn't some mid-tier clubs pick them up, give them a go in YL and/or D2. Keeps the kids playing and make the comp stronger, that can't be bad can it?

Have to agree with you Happy Days. I vaguely remember the statement being that the new players (6 or 7 of them?) were going to add to the existing talent. Will be interesting to see how many minutes that existing talent receives next season.
Would be nice to see yapper coach his way to success instead of recruit his way to success.

Also, from what I've heard:
Shep, Casey & Keilor to D1M. Would make a 2 x 8 team conference
3 or 4 new youth Womens teams to create a YL2W.
Apart from Sth Pen women going up, haven't heard much at SC level.

Think Sth pen women are jumping the gun here, big jump to SCW from div1 unless they are planning on recruiting big time for next season. Yes they have kids who won VJBL playing, but that's about it when you look at the stats from last year they were the main contributors, and whilst yes they are a talented group , they are not scw calibre just yet, give them another year or two. Jamie lee Pearce cannot do it all, in fact she has never played at this level either and as she plays a big, she will come up against much bigger bodies than she's used to.

You would of thought Southern Pen would of waited one more year to consolidate before moving.Gerard is a good coach so he must believe his girls will be able to handle the physicality. As long as they are competitive.

Doesn`t Camberwell have a youth league program?? Would have though that is where the players develop!!

With that said a long time celler dweller in Sherbrooke State champ women has just got worse given their better players have gone to Camberwell.

Should Souther Pen replace Sherbrooke and they move down?

Not sure the answer for them is hiring a coach who had no success at D1 level and didn`t do much when at Hume city either. Back to Back after his departure.

YL2W will be added next year and the bottom side from YLW1 dropping down.

If you fail to win at least 20% of your games the league can drop you down and you would be asked to explain if there is any main reason for that (injury to a star for example)

Well after finishing dead last in D1M the last 2 years, the mighty Craigieburn Eagles won 5% of their games but yet are going to continue in D1???

How does this happen?

Will all come down to however the make u of the divisions will be. If the three teams are going up perhaps they are going back to conferences in D1.

The AGM preliminary notes that go out to the clubs will go out in the next few weeks if it is like other years.

thats will explain the intentions for next season.

So apart from being Player/Coach of the BigV Men, what else does Demarcus Berry do in order to earn his income from Mornington? My understanding is that he has now outsourced all of the rep trainings to Impact...seems as though he has worked it all out haha - get others to do the work yet still get paid, clever chap

Demarcu's game will suffer big time. He will surely not be able to play as many minutes which will hurt Mornington big time.

They need a coach who can just let Demarcus play.

I think you'll find Demarcus is actually working the hardest he has ever had to work with a committee and president hot on his hammer. Impacts involvement is not that great, another money making exercise.Mornington now has some experienced business people involved but with little basketball experience. If they had a basketball background they wouldnt of employed Impact.

Casey have Hobba coming down, Are keeping Witherden and will have Lester Strong. Think you will find they are looking at D1 with view to State Champ in the future.

If they stayed in Division two they should be laughed at and shamed. Worse if they don`t happen to go undefeated and win by and average of 20 they should be booted out of the league.

obviously someone from another club in D2 trying to imitate them, which just pretty sad to be honest.

Who is hating and has been cut by Casey? All three of the senior teams look the same for the last few years so I am not sure as to who has been cut????

The results don`t seem to have changed much over the years though.. so perhaps you should look at cleaning out the dead wood. Tail always wagging the dog with coahces getting ousted and the same groups there year after year.

Stewart, Tim and Phil are good coaches hopefully they don`t suffer the same fate as those before them.
