Ryan Kersten: NM Lobo

Hi, all. New Mexico Lobo fan here. Great site you have. Ryan will be arriving in Albuquerque in the next few weeks to join his Lobo teammates in starting school and gearing up for the season, which starts in November.

Ryan will do you all and SA proud. We are also hoping to add Ryan's AIS teammate, Stephen Weigh from Queensland, next year. Ryan is helping in that effort. We'll try to keep you updated on Ryan's progress and you can find info throughout the year at the following sites:

Stephen Weigh has lost eligibility playing with a professional import with the rockhampton aba team, suggest you target someone else.

Coaches have looked into Weigh's eligibility and deemed him fit and eligible to play college ball in the US starting in 2006-07. He's being recruited by numerous schools and will likely make a trip to the US in September to see some of those schools. New Mexico and Utah are among them.

Thanks for the info.

It is very interesting when the eligiblity rules clearly state, in ABA if you play with a professinal player then you are categorised as a pro and lose all eligibility. Weigh played 2 years with a paid registered US import in the team.

There are many other juniors around the country who are not playing ABA because they would like to keep their NCAA Div One eligibility.

So it appears that the rules as outlined by Basketball Australia in regards eligibility are just a load of horse @#$@.
