Adelaide @ Perth 25th Jan

I am shocked there is no thread yet (none that I can see anyway).

This will be one of the games of the round.

The bookies have Perth $1.54 Adelaide $2.50.

Perth deserve to be favourites being at home, but they have been vulnerable at home lately ( see Cairns and Sydney).

Really both teams need this game to remain in the hunt for a playoff spot, no one is safe.

Will Adelaide continue to stifle Cotton? Will the Wildcats continue to fade out in Q3?

No additional injuries news as far as I can see.

Should be a cracker.

Head says Perth by 5 but heart says Adelaide by 2.

Jack Toft's preamble for this one, given it was posted after LoveBroker's:

Perth have been on the ropes the last few games and been punched around the ring, but a win against Sydeney warmed the cockles of their heart. The top of the table is flatter than a salt pan in eastern Western Australia and the heat on teams to perform is just as hot.

Both teams need a win tonight. Beating Perth in Perth is the plan. Can the Sixers do it?

It's been a week from hell in Adelaide with a new record maximum set yesterday. The heat the Sixers players will receive tonight from the Perf fans will be just as hot but they will be used to it.

The only good thing about playing Perth is they have red jerseys, which don't tend to show the blood when wiped on them.

So will the West beat the Sixers, or will the Sixers Swoop in for the win? Adelaide with a touch more form, but Perth have the three blind mice on their side.

I'm thinking the Sixers will swoop.

A really intriguing contest. Perth always hard to beat at home and Adelaide are up and down. Good memories for Adelaide last time they were in this building. I'll be providing a speck of blue in amongst the red army.

Can't see how Adelaide maintains its form with such a weak bench. The two main bench contributors, Froling and Majok, don't exactly guarantee you production every night. I think they lose tonight, and they'll lose some games you think they shouldn't (perhaps Cairns) before the season is out

Exactly the same thing happened with Darren Perry in the early 90’s, turned around to see who had kicked him in the back of the leg except no one was there.
The reason he’s holding the calf is because the Achilles has snapped and shot half way up his leg!

Perth's ball movement and speed of their offense has noticeably improved from previous weeks. They're throwing skip passes, getting into sets quicker, cutting harder and generally playing an higher tempo offensive game.

It's working great for them and they're getting great open looks and hitting.

Much harder Perth team to defend when they are playing like that (Versus the slowed ground out offense they've been playing recently).

Very disappointing result given Brissie gave us a free pass to catch up.

But this was one of those shooting nights.

But we're not out of playoffs by any means.

Wait, Perthworld is now criticising Gleeson for apparently signing elsewhere (presumably for more money) after spending months bagging him and calling the club weak for not getting rid of him sooner. You can't even up keep up with your own bullshit.

"As always it will come down to how many biased home calls keep the Cats in the game."

Nailed it Udog.

I wonder if Udog blames his teachers because he never graduated high school, or if he blames his parents for not aborting him.

Was Froling always such a flog during juniors in QLD, or has he grown into this around the Sixers? Such a sook.

It's been way too long since I got that vibe from the Cats.
Fun night.

I think what the Anon meant to say was...

Upon some self-reflection, Udog recognised that the Sixers had 3 more fouls than Perth during that game and shot 7 more FT's.

The proposed trip for Mr and Mrs Udog to Planned Parenthood whilst ont he surface desirable, needn't happen now.

Here I am! I went to bed at half time because of the late game time and having an early start at work. First quarter looked good. Second looked tired and lazy from 36ers. Second half I'd say they went to sleep when I did? I'll watch it later.

You won't like what you see, Udog.
All the foul calls when Perth's way as usual, especially the free throws. It was pretty sickening. The Cats were out-played and no doubt would have lost if the 3 blind mice in red had called things evenly instead of bailing out their buddies every possession.

Also, Perth Arena turned off the air-con over Adelaide's bench and installed heaters in their dressing room.

I appreciate that these were limited tops, but even so, wassn't it nice to see Blue vs Red, without Adelaide showing up in their pyjamas.
Oh, and they even managed to have red stripes without utter chaos ensuing or the roof falling in.

Good to see Kay getting back to his best, but Stiendl was the dagger last night. Freakin awesome.

Cotton, well just imagine how great he will be when his shooting returns.

But unfortunately, still the same old problems: White is a crab, and it seems even Gleeson has finally had enough, both Wagsatff and Jervis just look past it.

Question now is whether the NBL allows us to activate Dech yet again?
