Why have an Executive?

Once again the "BASA Executive" members on the Junior Committee have pushed through the BASA agenda and caused major problems to the next Junior Season.

Ignoring the numerous issues regarding last nights decisions I fail to understand why these memebers even are on the committee and have a vote. None are employed by BASA, they have positions on a committee to do what exactly??? Surely the point of them being there is not to use their collective power to out vote the majority of the clubs.

What's more they all come from weaker clubs and do everything in their power to stop the stronger clubs. Some couldn't even be bothered coming out to the finals for the competition that they have now destroyed.

Time for a change. Get rid of them and get some people who know what they are doing.

We are now starting a season without a true calander. With only an 18 round summer competition with no idea about what happens next.

Anon,

I think you will find that the reason it was passed was due to the Fact that Southern were not at the meeting otherwise it would have been 5-5. But the Junior Executive were the one's who passed it with their own vote.

Plus, those clubs that did vote against it are the one's who would be able to play agianst each other and send BASA broke. teams wish you are looking at 260 teams V 140 teams.

Hope that your club enjoys playing in a competition with 140 teams.

I believe that some of the comments made are factually inaccurate.

It is disappointing that the well meaning individuals who write about decisions made by the member clubs and the junior committee can't get on with improving the game at all levels, for the good of the sport in general, instead of thinking of themselves and their own development, above what really matters.

Maybe they are trying to, but it is the struggling clubs and the junior executive who are holding the game back by their voting patterns. The decision of this meeting only shows what a farce the junior committee is and why it should be disbanded.

Can someone clarify what was being voted on, what was passed and if known who voted which way?

Maybe when the dust settles in a day or so, and the facts are known, then those that are firing bullets may need to retract some of the comments above.

Also, it can often come down to how imnpressive (or not) your Club representative is in putting forward your case.

Maybe this wasn't done so well?

Seems to me like the Anonymous family never got their way, and have come on here sulking and abusing others.
What about 9-4 vote?
Surely what is decided at Exec meeting is majority decision. If not why not come clean instead of "sniping" again with part details and not the whole story? Afraid of giving your identity away?
