What will be the best way to watch NBL this year?

I'm trying to figure out the best/most cost-effective way to watch NBL this year, but I can't figure exactly how things are going to work. Putting this down so others can correct me.

ESPN
- Live broadcasts of selected games
- Fetch TV - Vibe pack $6 per month
- Foxtel
- Kayo - $24.99 per month

SBS Viceland
- Live broadcast of selected games
- Free to Air
- Streaming on delay/but not live streaming of all games, including those aired originally on ESPN?

NBL.tv
- All games live and on catchup - $5 per month

Well SBS Viceland and On Demand will show every game for free as I understand it, not just selected games. No brainer.

I think NBL.TV for $5/mo if it continues is a cheap way to support the league's ambitions too.

More importantly no more complaining about the cost of Foxtel.

Hmm- I want to watch them all in HD so it will be a mix of Viceland and Kayo for me.

I am very impressed with the options we have so far.

I can remember the dark days when it was only Fox or that horrid first iteration of NBL TV by perform media.

IIRC at that point it was actually two games a week on TEN/ONE or NBL TV. But before that there was a season were it was only one game on Fox from memory.

I doubt Kayo will be any better quality than SBS On Demand.

How about pre-NBL TV streaming -- anyone else remember rivusTV?

Well SBSOnDemand looks to be a winner. Happy to fall back to an ESPN package on Fetch if necessary as $6 per month won't break the bank.

I did commentary for some Rivus TV games. Was good fun, but I remember on one of them the feed had died in the second quarter but we had no idea!

It was PPV with some games unwatchable but they wouldn't issue refunds. Fun indeed.

I remember in the nineties if you mentioned you watched something on SBS you'd invariably get some comment about wog this or that. Keep it low guys if you're watching SBS.
