Australian Boomers team for Asia Cup announced

https://australia.basketball/blog/2021/02/11/australias-leading-emerging-talent-to-light-up-cairns-in-2021-asia-cup-qualifiers/

Does anyone know whether this game will be broadcast? Or maybe not because it will compete with the NBL?

Apologies you are right.

Is this game on at the same time as any NBL games on this date?

Haven't heard of a single player there.... what kind of kiwi team they taking on?

Kiwi team will be even weaker as they have to already be in Australia to play and none of the NBL guys are available.

Matt Kenyon keeps popping up as an option for NBL rosters.
He was pretty average during his year with the Bullets. Has he improved?
How about the rest of the guys on this roster?
Any future NBA or NBL talent there?

Great opportunity for these kids but agree that calling this team the Boomers seems stupid. By all means let them play with "Australia" on their singlets, but if the outcome of the game mattered, we would have figured out how to get some NBL guys available.

Both teams are 'makeshift' teams at best.

Really poor by ba, we need a win and we put young kids against experienced semi pros.
What's was wrong with putting a nbl1 roster team in?

"What's was wrong with putting a nbl1 roster team in?" Nothing except most of them don't even get paid. Are you really serious?

I'm simply saying we have better talent than the kids we are sending. Why not send nbl1 players like robateau, mcdowell white, kahler, Williams and the plethora of other nbl1 guys to face nz.

Another loss puts us in a bad situation in the group. Guam is no walkover at full strength. 1 loss to them and we have to through a second stage process.

Yes Guam are a walk over at any strength
