BSA schedule for Junior Finals

All season the junior winter games have been played on Friday nights for Div1&2

Thursday nights for A grade district & below U16's

Sat mornings for younger ages

Come the finals BSA explained that the first three weeks of its new top 8 finals would be from Thursday 14th - Sat 16th followed by the next two weekends.

Schedules have now been released and half of the teams who normally play Friday nights & Thursday. nights are listed to be playing finals every Saturday night for a month

Games from like 6.30 - 9.30pm saturday nights

Can anyone reasonably explain why they could not keep things as normal as possible ?

Do BSA realise that people (customers) have other commitments & schedules and that they don’t just sleep, eat, school & BASA????

This is on top of decisions to play finals for top 8 including teams who have finished 8th & not won a game all season or not many wins

Also on top of decisions to play games including double headers all the way through the school holidays forcing teams to have key players miss games in the main Winter season of the Elite Junior comps

Teams who normally play Friday night have also been scheduled for Sunday night.
Perhaps it's just a preliminary draw, these things always seem to get changed by BSA

That's right it’s currently all over the place from sat morning to sat night & sunday morning to sunday night & some Thursday or Friday nights but not as much so seems like less venues especially on Friday nights

Lack of refs might be an issue and they are spreading the games out so no green shirts are needed?

Pretty sure someone has just put in wrongs dates and posted in error. Not ideal but a mistake, surely! Sure some of the parents of kids from South East, Port Augusta, Port Lincoln, Riverland etc just had heart attacks!

Relax people, you'll all play on your normal day or night.

Relax people ?
Is that an official & patronising comment from someone at bsa ?

The schedules all clearly had Sat night & sunday night games & it had been scheduled live so assumed it to be the case

Yes mistakes can happen but the trust levels are a bit low currently & the original sentiment stands in this post that the constant changes are hard to keep up with.

Looks like the schedule is off line now so maybe it will be rectified

Rookie comp crew making rookie mistakes hopefully.

Or BSA just not understanding they can't just put games anywhere they want.

Double header round proved they have no idea about other commitments so they have history on that.

Either way, how did we get to this!?

May be a glitch as no venues are listed for a lot of the games. Would think Friday night games would be as per normal for finals. But seeing so many green shirts on Thursday and Fri nights this may be a possible reason if game days are different.

A touch condescending to say relax people. The change in draw would have required a lot of families to reschedule things. Let alone families for the country, separated families or those who have more than one kid playing.

Pretty sure it is a mistake, but it says everything about BSA that many assume it isn't.

Looks like all the info entered yesterday has now been removed. I'd assume corrections are on the way

Actually looks like all Junior Competitions have been removed and still are missing. What a shambles.

Rumour going around is that Norwood and North are advocating for a top 10 final series so they can have some participation

Get rid of social teams on week nights for a few weeks and accomodate all district finals ,go central such as Wayville and you will have grey shirters less green shirters .
Coaches want to see grey shirters than having two green shirters for Grand final from what I am hearing from associated clubs .

Now that the fixtures are released and games are on the usual day/night, I guess "please explain" is no longer relevant.

A top 8 at least gives the state under 16s boys coach the chance to participate in club finals, done well finishing 7th

Thanks, that's true
The explanation is in now but it’s quite strange that the schedule was so different yesterday & then the fixtures & ladders taken down & then all changed today.

The Original post is a fair question to ask in my view with all the changes that the association has made without great consideration to how it effects customers

I still feel like top 8 is unnecessary. Especially in an eight team comp

Basketball SA seem to try but appear to lack professional discretion
