They didn't compete due to COVId issues

The 18 boys also pulled out mid tournament due to COVID 19. Teams were missing players across the board and a local club team was used to finish the scheduled games. It is a reflection of the times we now live in and I honestly can't see how an official AJC will go ahead in 2022!

even if it all stopped soon - it will probably be months before the big cities / states are right down on numbers.

It's a pity, nothing like representing you state and measuring yourself against the best around the country.
They (Basketball Australia) need to come up with an alternative solution, or else the Covid thing will dedicate our lives and sport for a long time.

Such as Jock?

Thousands of events have been cancelled over the past 2 years. The Live Music industry in Australia is non existent right now. But BA "need" to find a solution.

There isn't one.

Well with that attitude, no wonder there's no foresight. How about endorsing a closed tournament with no spectators, parents etc - only players, coaches and officials allowed with strict Covid protocols so to avoid the spread of the virus. Are we just going to put our whole lives on hold, we need to accept the virus is here and we need to learn how to work with it.

Possibly jumping at shadows, AJC starting in April (under 20 no dates set as yet?), so we are a long way off. U16 last year put an event together that while not ideal with states missing showed it can be put together. If held now it's only WA with issues and the U16 may need to be relocated again.
