The Reserve Championship is the first weekend in May and the State Championship the second weekend

Except when a div 1 player gets injured during the week after the Reserve championships and you can't bring a player up from div 2.

Surely you could get dispensation from BASA for a Div 2 to play. They have been very fair in the past.

Either that or play the Div 1's in the first week.

How do you prove that you have a legitimate injury? What happens if the injury occurs on the Thursday night and you don't have time to get dispensation from BASA?

For the clubs that have 2 div 2 teams does anyone know if basa will be allowing them both to play in the div 2 state champs?

No they won't. One team can play Reserves 1, the other Reserves 2 (if they continue to have two reserves grades - if they don't, you get one team - as it should be).

who cares, its state champs, not state chumps. just let the best 2 teams for each age level from each club go in, thats all you need

this has been brought up before, but anyway no reserve 2?? that is bull s*** there will be alot of unfortunate sturt players and im sure there are others to i mean look at most sturt div 2 teams often both teams top 4 material, north 18 div 2 the north 2 boys only just lost to north 1 and will now miss out on state champs even though they are clearly better then alot of bottom div 2 teams, and by the way because 2nd teams wont get to play at state champs does this mean they won't be allowed at nunawading

Nutter relax.

The debate over the length of the summer season and playing basketball in a calender year has been the focus of most clubs and the junior committee.

That being said as it stands now, yes there will only be one Reserve grade but clubs who have 2 teams in Division Two will (at the moment) be allowed to nominate both in the tournament.
