Tensions overflowed at the under-pressure Brisbane Bullets on Tuesday when forward DJ Mitchell was sent home from training following a disagreement with coach James Duncan.

The Logue Down has been told that Mitchell was asked to leave the training venue after having a difference of opinion with coach Duncan over his role in the Bullets' offence.

The pair exchanged words. Officials are adamant there is no bad blood between Duncan and Mitchell and the incident was two passionate competitors that are desperate to win games following a 0-4 start to the season.

The Bullets have since suspended Mitchell for one game for failing to adhere to team standards.

The incident comes as there is growing pressure on Duncan and Brisbane to revive the club’s season.

Speculation was rife earlier this week that the Bullets were poised to make a move on the under-fire coach, but the Logue Down column has been told there is currently no movement on the coaching front.

The club is extremely disappointed with its 0-4 start to the season and concede they need to win games after loading up the roster with former NBA players Aron Baynes and Tyler Johnson.

It’s understood that the Bullets’ ownership group, most who live and operate overseas, are closely monitoring the situation and want to see improvements and wins by the FIBA window in November at the completion of round six.

Duncan is an average coach. I would be shocked if they keep him around beyond this season

Mitchell has been close to their best player, at both ends, didn't like the offence, probably sick of Sobey and Cadee over dribbling the ball. Duncan shown nothing to show he’s the required person for the job, though they have had some good starts playing team only to go back to hero ball.

He is probably trying to get released. If so I hope it works out for him.

Hard to comment without know what happened. As bad as the Bullets have mostly looked, Mitchell is still a professional and should be expected to behave professionally.

The red flags were being waved for Duncan before he was announced Bullets HC. Had been at a large number of stops in his short career and never stuck anywhere for a reasonable period, that says something to me.

In fairness, his coaching staff is ordinary at very best, perhaps the weakest in the comp. I don't see Vandy and PC aiding a great deal in player and team development. Duncan is likely doing the heavy lifting by himself.

The way the roster has been constructed by Sammy Mack isn't talked about enough also, and is a significant hindrance to team success. Sammy is a hoops legend but his personnel decisions deserve further scrutiny. Whether they're due to his own judgement or the purse strings being held tightly by ownership, who knows.

Same problem every year, no true point guard. Relying on Sobey, Walker and Cadee to be your guards not working.

Krebs starting is puzzling. Harrison playing f'all in 1 game is weird but assume is injured now. Walker and Sobey need to take up some of Cadee's minutes, Walker especially.

"Krebs starting is puzzling."

Not at all. He's a guy who defends, hits 3s and doesn't need anything run for him. Excellent complement to Johnson, Sobey and Baynes once they get going.

Brisbane saying it's nothing much and standing him down for a game doesn’t add up.

If it’s nothing serious why is he being stood down a game.

Duncan under pressure.

Krebs should be getting more shots and minutes, plays both ends floor. Walker a lot less, hasn't shown much at this level.

Bullets: "Nothing to see here"

Suspends import after 4 games and he “was asked to leave the training venue after having a difference of opinion with coach Duncan over his role in the Bullets' offence.”

Ok. That's how every professional sports team operates in the second best league in the world.
