The most irritating NBL player?

Tough call between Wagstaff, Magette and Goulding, imo.

Based on today's game, I think Magette is in the lead.

Goulding's fake concussion last night made me irrationally angry. How would Ili have felt watching that?
The commentators never, ever call him out for his shit

Goulding was really poor. I actually thought he was convulsing at one stage. He is on the decline now, so not much more.

Oh it's definitely Goulding by a mile.

When the Philippines brawl happened, even Australians went "yeah look, kinda understand wanting to punch Goulding"

Of course thinking it and acting it are two different things...

Villains are good for basketball.

I feel like he’s probably a chill and likable person outside of basketball though.

Wagstaff.

Goulding at least has swagger.

Anyone that has any doubt Goulding is atop the list needs to watch these.

But I can understand why people get irritated by CG. His acting is a bit much sometimes.

But he's also got swagger. There are few better players to watch than Goulding when he heats up.

Goulding when fouled or perceiving he is fouled knows he's on camera close up and does his own version of magnum/blue steel, absolute mer-man of epic proportions

Interesting looking at the names. I've felt for years the more renowned Aussie players get reffed differently to imports, or other nationalities or rookie Aussies. Goulding, Norton, Creek, DJ, McCarron, Wagstaff etc. Always seem to get easy free throws or draw fouls. I feel all would struggle in another league when not getting the favors. Of that list, Creek plays D but the others prefer to flop opposed to playing hard defense.

Norton is a committed defender and frequently ends up in foul trouble as a result. I don't feel like he gets reffed favourably.

Norton ends up on the floor most times he drives to the hoop.

Goulding is the all time MVP in this category. No one else is close...yet. Casper's shit eating grin always irritated me to no end.

I know Wagstaff flops, but he doesn't act like a douche at least.

Sobey/Creek have settled down a bit since their 36er days.

Vasiljevic is just Goulding without the hops and the flops.

Neither stands out for their defence. Same swagger, though, so I can understand why some get irritated by him.

As long as he doesn't pick up any bad habits from CG43.

Never really understood the dislike for Wagstaff, yes there's the flops but that puts him with many other players. He doesn't carry on have excessive bravado, seems pretty relaxed.

Drmic.

Why is Drmic here? He can carry on a bit to fire up himself and the team but its not regular, nor does he excessively flop or do malicious acts.

McCarron is up there but goes unnoticed since he does it in a quieter way.

MM is not even close to being on this list.

Other honourable mentions would be (including players no longer in the league):

Nate Tomlinson
Casper Ware
Brian Conklin
Daryl Corletto

Cannot think of more right now.

Currently Deng Deng is by far the most annoying as he tries acting so big and tough and then gets touched and goes down like he's legitimately hurt (Vic Law Headbutt) for example.

Drmic has been that player that has annoyed me the most for his career too.

Glad to see that Pinder and Mcveigh aren’t listed despite people being annoyed by them when at 36ers.

The Most annoying player in NBL history was Tim Morrissey (I remember as a young tacker him coming onto Perth Entertainment Centre floor and already being boo’d and that was just checking into the game!

Ray Gordon annoyed me but I appreciated what he did for the team.

Darryl Corletto always annoyed me

Mike Kelly had something about him that irritated me more than than other players, glad he has called Australia home though.

Gary Wilkinson for sure annoyed me as I always underestimated him and I paid for it as he murdered opposition teams.

Cedric Jackson, undisputed best player in the league for a time there and he air balled Three pointers AND free throws (bad look for the game/league if he’s your best player)
