2023-24 mvp race

Just after halfway through, it's not the way I’d judge the mvp as it gets to more of popularity contest, but who are your favourites.

Goulding, just been outstanding in all games.
Parker Jackson Cartwright, been very good at both ends, love how he plays
Cotton, not as consistent as usual but still great
Creek, playing more team but still getting good stats under Kelly
Crawford, been fantastic for JJs, like PJC great all round game.

I'd give it to CG43 at this point. Cotton was woeful for half the season.

If the trophy was handed out today, my pick would be Goulding.

Parker Jackson Cartwright been killing it too though! Would be a close second.

Bubbles for MVP, despite the peanuts on NBL Podcasts rabbiting on about Cotton constantly.

Doyle and Crawford steal votes from each other IMO. Two of the best imports in the league.

When was the last time the best player on the best team won? I'll be taking Doyle at juicy odds right now

Cotton $3.00
Goulding $6.00
Doyle $7.50

Cotton at threes is a trap for mug punters.

Hard to look pass CG but if he drops off I'd say Doyle and the Miller kid from Cairns if they can win a few more games

I reckon Miller and Williams are right in the conversation for MVP,
By the end of the year, my tip is Cotton with Miller and Doyle rounding out my top 3. I reckon Goulding will drop off in the second half of the year, plus he is just a scorer, he doesn't do anything else like the other contenders.

You obviously haven't watched Goulding play, he does a lot more than score.

Miller has to be in the top three contenders at the moment, particularly for a guy that was recruited to head a second unit. Consider also what he's done in terms of injury for Cairns as well. CG43 having a great season likewise and wouldn't begrudge him getting his due at all. Parker has played great but NZB have to get on a winning roll for him to be in with a shot.

I would say the same for Miller, as Parker, Cairns would need to get on a winning roll for him to be a shot.

Miller was recruited to be a star. Whether he was originally going to start the game or not doesn't change that.

Unfortunately guys like PJC, Anthony Lamb, Miller really don't have much of a chance unless you get into the top 4 for MVP. There's always a massive team element to MVP which I have never liked.

IMO the measuring stick should be, how would their team hypothetically go if they were taken off it? That would me shows how VALUABLE a player is.

Based on that - Cotton, Goulding, Miller top 3 IMO.

Tho that's just how I judge, i know some people don't like that method

With all the punishment Cotton has to put up with and still produce those numbers, he should be MVP.

This is from someone who always barracks against Perth.

He hasn't consistently produced MVP form so far this season, so if the vote was held now it shouldn't be him. But under the new voting system this is a second half of the year award, so he's every chance if he produces a few more games like last night.

If Rillie keeps playing him for forty minutes a game he will fade in the second half of the season.

To be fair Gleeson also played him big minutes, but I do agree he needs rest. He is such a wonderful competitor, athlete and competitor, he him a pass port, he offers so much more than Thyabull.
