SEM v Sydney

This could get very ugly, even though Creek is very good, Lebron James could not get this team a win. Nader has been very average at best and the balance that are playing are bench quality and some nbl1 quality.
Kings should play them selves into form, I do feel for Kelly, he's been dealt a poor hand. Kings by hopefully less than 40.

Man, I love basketball, but tonight's double header has me absolutely flaccid.

No good tennis on tonight, so guess I'll have the NBL on in the background.

This match should be the least entertaining of the two, although not expecting the matinee to be much more competitive.

Kings by 25.

If kings play finals, they are not winning anything, I suppose most supporters would be happy with back to back.

Only realised SEM are without any imports again.

Nader out again. Does anyone question Tommy's competency down there? Something has to change, and it can’t be the coach again.

Noi and Bolden the think defence is what you have in your back yard. It's woeful.

Just love to see this tbh. SEM and Mitch Creek standing up against the odds, even if they don't win this game, that's all everyone has been wanting to see from them. Some fight.

Sydney on the other hand, looking like a knock out in the first play in game tbh.

I never in a million years thought I'd see a coach as clueless as Jackomas.

But my god Mahmoud has single handedly ruined the Sydney Kings franchise.

Creek, Stattman and Foxwell been very good for Phoenix, the kings are all rubbish, only half time so they will probably still win but so far they have been very accommodating guests. Bolden minus 16, Bruce minus 12 and Noi minus 11.

Craptacular season? Are you serious? I've been following the NBL since 1986 and have never seen a season where literally any team can win on a given night. Unbelievably even season.

Parity on its own doesn't mean quality when all of the teams being poor contributes to it.

The season with quality parity was 2016-17.

What looked like an absolute crap game before the match has ended up beauty.

You can't really say anything about kings, have some nice players but a lot arrogant tossers like their previous coach. Malulach, Hunter and Glover in the plus at least, Noi and Bolden woeful. Valentine nearly pulled it out but overall is a foul athon and over rated.

SEM, well Creek did turn into lebron, ably helped by Stattman, was fantastic at bot ends and team play, Foxwell, Ayre and Gak very good, and balance of team did what was needed, all very well.

SEM got get a good pass first point, Creek and Williams will score you enough points, probably get a two guard who can play D and help scoring chuck in Moller, Kenyon, keep Gak, Stattman, Foxwell and Ayre, though I’d like to see become more consistent, find another big or if you don’t go import two get another five.

Enjoying watching that, well done mike Kelly

I wouldn't like to play cards against mike Kelly, win, lose, get smashed his persona never changes. I have not always been a Creek fan mainly because his D can be average at times, but you can’t fault his loyalty and honesty.

"Kings most disappointing team since???"

I don't think so. I wasn't as high on Sydney as most coming off the championship with us losing Cooks, all our imports, and not able to lure in another high profile Aussie. The way we started the season has made it seem disappointing/underperforming in hindsight, but we are only a few wins behind what I expected to be completely honest, and that was with a healthy Hogg in Cairns-like form. I didn't expect us to be NBL1-level defensively, but that shouldn't have been so surprising in hindsight either, losing two of the best defensive forwards in the league.

Gutsy win by the Phoenix, much needed. It will be interesting to see who they keep on their roster and who they bring in for next season.... anyone out there have any knowledge of the current status of the existing Phoenix contracts? (who has what years left?)

Under contract
Creek
Vague
Williams
Foxwell
Kenyon
Ayre
Coach Kelly
Rissetto- club option.

Ok list, two starters plus Kenyon that also started when import left. Will be interesting to see, from here, Stattman showed plenty, Creek called Moller the best utility in the comp so you would think he'd be wanted, could have competition from other clubs though.

All club list on spatialjam.

Thank you for the great info, hopefully promising times ahead. Despite a few heavy losses, currently only 1-2 wins off finals place this year. Kelly doing okay, especially with a few injuries this year.
