Does this mean he still gets to try out for the NBA in years to come?

As long as he withdraws from the draft before the withdrawl date june 18th, which he has then he can try again. Obviously noone fell in love with him.

I'm a bit puzzled by this. What was the worst thing that could happen if he did stay nominated, but then didn't get drafted? Would he not be allowed to return to Townsville? Would he not be eligible to be drafted in 2007? Could he be aiming to tear it up at the World Champs in August and sneak into the NBA after that without being drafted, Schenscher-style?

Can one of the NBA experts on here enlighten me about the process of it all?

If his agent's comments here are accurate, regarding the enthusiasm for Newley, why not take the chance on getting drafted?

There's no guarantees for lots of things in life, and since he's put in the hard work, particularly in the last few weeks over there, I could even finish this post by insert the appropriate cliche about the harder one works, the luckier one gets etc right about here.

Once he knows what he needs to do at the draft tests, he'll be eager to work on those elements over the NBL season before giving it another shot.

If you do not withdraw your name and you do not get drafted, then that's it. Otherwise you'd have 1000s of players entering every year which just wouldn't work. He's gained invaluable exposure over there, and now knows how the system works

Brad speaks about it here. Maybe he just needed to get a haircut. :)
