Funny Wildcats vs 36ers - Game Thread

36ers on the road in Perth for their first game in a week in a half, Perth returning from a strong win in Singapore on Wednesday night, with Redhage missing training yesterday due to the flu, and 36ers now featuring Hodge, who has apparently been training well with the team.

We managed to get the job done on Perth in Challenge stadium earlier this season, so should be a good game.

Live scoring should start at 8.30pm, SA time, on NBL.com.au, until it breaks at 8.32pm. :)

36ers by 12.

Im predicting a big win. We lost in Perth eaier this season after building a 15pt lead early.... But this time round we have a healthy Davidson and Julius (i love that name haha)

No Caporn, surely means the 6ers aka Davidson will run the remaining Perth guards off there feet. If he can get it going defensively like he did against Sydney in that second half....it'll be a very long night for cats fans.

Half time sees the Sixers up by 6.
Wildcats - 45
Sixers - 51

Ballinger and Maher dominating the scoring for us with 16 & 13 points respectivly.

Cooper is doing nicely too with 7 points, 4 boards, 2 blocks and an assist.

For them Loughton is doing the damage with 12 points and 8 rebounds.

Hodge did nothing that quarter from what I can tell.

I can't tell whose name Hodge's score is against. How does anyone know how he is progressing. I thought his score wasn't shown and it was the difference between the total of individual player's scores and the game total. It doesn't make sense. Surely the NBL have had long enough to know there is a Julius Hodge now playing for the 36ers. For God's sake they had to approve it. Why can't they get his name up on the scoreboard?

Hodge - 8 Turnovers - had the chance to win it in the last few seconds but turned the ball over

Redhage had 8 O-boards and went to the line 18 times. Didn't Adelaide have trouble guarding Redhage in the pre-season? They did a fine job earlier this season on him.

If someone before the game told me that Cooper would lead the team in minutes, especially after Dench's form in the last couple of weeks,
and only one other player on the floor would have gotten more minutes..

would not have believed them..

Are our other bigs that bad,
or am I underestimating Cooper?

AWESOME game 36ers,

some great d, some bad luck with a couple of horrible hometown calls in the last minute.

Hodge..loved his drive, just held on to it a little too much on occasion...but man he drives sooo hard at the basket..love it!!!

Coops...did some good hard work in d again...couple of great rejects and rebounds

Copeland showed some real fight, the guy might be old..but he works his but off.

Darren...fired some great shots, but he took a hammering again.

the game between Ballinger and Rogers was incredible in parts

the whole game was fantastic..and to go down by 2 was tough to swallow....the comment above about "me" being was posted by me, from the game and was true..I was asked to leave the VIP section as the wildcats directors had complained..geez..can you believe it...so..instead we were moved courtside just past halfway..so..guess not real probelm..but..how sad are the wildcats fans?

Why am I not surprised that Ballinger, our best player, takes only 15 shots (and makes 11 of them) to score 25 and be our top scorer?

Just keep giving the guy the ball and let him take 25-30 shots a game!!

Reply #165220 | Report this post

Well it may not be that easy to just give him the ball 30 times a game as i am pretty sure the other team would have done there homework and would implement various defensive strategies to starve Ballinger of the ball. Its not as if every single team in the NBL is not aware of who Ballinger is and we just throw the ball to him with no double triple teams faced by the passer.

Rogers, Redhage & Loughton might be 3 reasons why Balls didn't get the ball 25 times.
I don't know why I'm explaining this to someone who can't remember his password, but I'm that kinda guy. : P
