Julius Hodge

Do people think its worth holding out until the last possible minute to see if Hodge will be available or going with the safer option and signing someone who may not be quite as good but is ready to commit earlier??
I think its a risk but id be willing to hold out on Hodge, especially if he has indicated he will come back if he doesnt make the NBA, as players like him dont come up very often so i think he is worth the risk, especially if its a 2 year contract hes been offered.
i would how ever have a plan b and c so if he doesnt end up coming we can get someone in quick smart so it doesnt hurt us too much early in the season, maybe get his agent to give us a list of players who would be a good fit like he said to Phil wen suggesting Hodge in the first place.

just saw this list of the top players in the US minor leagues, could be worth tracking some of these guys if Hodge doesnt happen (which i hope he does)
Carlos Powell and Josh Pace are ranked highly.
Id still take Hodge as first choice but if i was an NBL team id be taking a look at these guys as i dont believe the money is that great in the minor leagues and some of these guys may be interested in Australia.

Sun Yue is the tall Chinese point guard that the Lakers drafted. Wasn't Odell Bradley the dud Hunter Pirates import, or am I thinking of someone else? Josh Pace had indicated last year that he would be interested in an offer from the 36ers this season - probably not as good a fit if Holmes signs. Given that Holmes would board and play some D, they could look for a shooter as a priority?

Im certain the club would be looking at other options as well. However, as the team is unlikely to even start proper training for another 3 months, they still still have a little time to play with. I wouldnt expect the 2nd Import spot to be announced until at least June.
