All Star Question re Trades

Not sure about this one. If Amare gets traded before the All Star Game to an eastern conference team, does he still play for the West?

I'm almost certain that I read something last year - when it seemed likely that Kidd was going to be traded before the ASG - saying the player would represent the conference they were traded to? And I think both squads would run with 13 to accomodate the new player without having to cut anyone.

Of course, I may be wrong (and I couldn't find anything on it when I searched for it), but I think he'd play for the East.
